Failed nclex first time and took it again today

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

As I was looking on the computer for the different states that let nurses work as graduate nurses I came across this website. I took the test 45 days ago and failed at 120ish and just took it again this morning. I've been crying all day. I studied my little heart out and got up to 90. This feels like torture, while I know that their are worst things in the world...in my small world it feels like the end of it. The scariest part is if I do fail I'm not sure if I have the strength to pick myself up again and study AGAIN. Also this is almost making me want to be a nurse becuase it seems so difficult. I like to plan out evreything I have a job, an apartment now all I need is to read the words PASS. I'm glad I came across this website because I felt very alone. Almost all of my friends from nursing school have passed so it makes me feel so stupid. Anybody know anybody that passed or failed at 90? Also does anybody know of the states that offer nurses to work as graduate nurses? Do you think they will hire you after have failed the nclex?? I need some type of job!

Hi - My name is Sachin. I have taken the NCLEX twice, most recently on the 8th of September 2008 and I think I failed because I went all the way to 265. I don't know what to think. Any suggestions on what to study for the third time. What does the exam focus on? The second time was a boat load of infection control and priority and medications.

Thanks, Sachin

The number of questions that you receive has no bearing on what your results will be. Recommend that you wait until you actually get your results before you do anything to prepare again.

Each exam is different and it does not know if you have taken it before nor the state that you are writing it for. Questions get changed out every so often, that is why there is the wait of at least 45 days before one can retest for any state.

When you prepare for an exam, it should be as if you have never tested before and go over everything again.

But most definitely, wait until you get your results before doing a thing.

Best of luck to you.

I am in the same boat at you....I had taken my exam in july and got all 265 questions and did not pass........I took it today and it shut off at 75 and I'm anxiously awaiting my results........its honestly hard to wait........I have my job lined up and they have already held it once from when I failed the first time and I'm afraid they will be unable to hold it again......anyways as stressful as it is.......try not to think negative keep positive.......as for graduate nurse if you take your NCLEX and fail your not eligible to be a GN anymore.........but I hope you pass so you can start your life :)
