I just recently failed my NCLEX after working at my dream job for almost 6 weeks. I was supposed to come off of orientation soon, but now that I have failed I am being bumped down to an NA. Obviously I am so thankful that my job is still secure once I do pass my boards, but I will be so embarrassed the day I have to walk into the hospital and everyone sees that I have failed. I am confident that I will pass my exam the second time - this is just really bothering me. Any words of encouragement?

I know you are going through a hard time but think of the many students that havent gotten where you are. Many students would love the opportunity to take boards but they were not able to finish up a program for whatever the reason may be but you have the chance to take that test again...and you will pass. and you must know that every nurse in that hospital did not pass boards on the first sitting, they may not admit it but i know thats true. look at this as an opportunity to grow as a person, stronger and wiser.
hope that helps

That's a normal feeling. The important thing is you'll pass NCLEX on your 2nd try and then you could walk in that hospital proud.
Nothing wrong with being a n/a though. Either way you would be gaining experience. It might be hard to think positively right now but you could think of the positive things like still having a job or stuff like that.
Goodluck. I'll be praying for your success.

there's no reason to be embarrased. NCLEX really a very unpredictable exam, plus even NCLEX passer have no jobs even they passed so long ago. with the US economy today it's hard to secure a job, and there is a very tight competition. just be thankful u have a decent job.. Good luck to you. hope u can make it next time. btw, i passed nclex on my second try..♥

You only fail if you give up!
Take some time rejuvenate yourself, and then set yourself a realistic study goal & get back to it. You can do this! :)

You have not failed yet. They did not terminate you. You are already ahead of the game. We had an LVN who was notorious for taking the RN exam and failing it. Everybody talked about her. It did not stop her from testing again and again, even though she had taken the test several times. She was not emabarassed at all, just mad. Don't advise you to get too angry, but stay resolved to get this accomplished. Good luck.
