FAILED my exam today. Asking for HELP re: study tips

Published

Took my exam earlier today and found out (through the PV trick) that I didn't make it.. I'm really depressed about it but I know that I will have to find a way to get back up on my feet and try again..

I need tips about how to study well for this exam because right now I'm just really exhausted and I'm not sure what I did wrong.. I probably need to answer more practice exams.

Still depressed with the results but I know its not the end of the world..

P.S.- I'm a Filipino and currently reside in the Philippines (but will be leaving the country before this month ends) and I'm new here.. Would really be nice to have Filipino friends on here..

Let's hear your stories about the NCLEX.. Thanks in advance and God bless..

Dont get down on yourself! There are tons and tons of posts exactly like this on the forum, if you scroll down you will find endless answers on different study plans and the things that have helped people pass, My advise is to look at the top (the sticky threads) and spend some time looking at the random fact throwing thread, and the tips to pass nclex thread. Both helped me alot

Take a couple of days off to relax. You deserve it. When you get ready to go at it again, remember to study as if you had never tested before. You don't want to leave anything out by mistakenly convincing yourself that you already know an area or fact. Good luck.

I recently took the NCLEX after graduating. I had 75 questions and ended up passing. But what I did to study was Kaplan review!!! I loved Kaplan and that is all that I did for review. I did all 7 of the question trainers and about 20% of the Question bank questions and read through every single rationale to get my mind set like NCLEX. Because I felt that Kaplan was exactly like NCLEX. If you can afford it I would go with Kaplan. The college that I graduated from made all of us graduating take Kaplan and I am thankful that they do that because the college that I graduated from has a very high pass rate and I believe that its because of Kaplan. That's my suggestions. Keep your head up and you can do it!

Hi filipinaRN here, ill be taking mine. what materials did you use? im currently using kaplan, saunders and lacharity. Chin up! Have u taken our local boards in PI? God bless you. Focus on your goal.

hello.. pinayRN here.. i took mine last 31st of May. I used Kaplan (did Question trainer 1-7 and 100% Qbank), Saunders flashcard and Lacharity. This site helped me pass the test especially the infection control mnemonics. Keep your head up. relax for couple of days. Believe in yourself that you can do it and pray. Good luck. :)

Thank you for the advice.. Right now, I honestly dont feel confident in opening my books again.. But I know that eventually I have no choice but to start again. I cant stay in a rut forever..

Those are the same things I used.. But I only got to attend the live classes in Kaplan.. Didn't get to use the lab. Maybe that part would've been helpful to me.. Yes, I have taken the local boards last November 2009 and was part of the 39% that passed.. Because of that, everyone (including myself) had high expectations that I will pass the NCLEX as well.. But I didnt.. So I'm really disappointed with myself.
