Hey everyone,
I have been working so hard since I graduated to pass my boards and done countless study programs and spent a lot of money. I am now in this state of depression, if I may diagnose myself and I cannot seem to shake it in order to get my confidence back up for this next time coming up on the 25th of this month.
I feel like a failure and nothing I do seems to help. I need my studying to be worthwhile but I just get so down on myself.
Any advice?
Thanks,
A Frustrated Graduated Nurse

How are you studying? Sometimes it's not necessary to spend that much to gain good results. Ultimately on test day, it all comes down to the test taker's level of confidence, no matter how much they've studied.
I am studying using some online tests through Kaplan and remediating and then I am using an online tutor.. Yeah, failing it three times now has for sure shot down my confidence; which sucks.

Sorry for the situation you are in :(I too have not passed after 3 attempts, and yes it is frustrating but don't give up! I graduated from a bachelor's program more than a year ago and I am going for my 4th attempt this Fall/Winter. If you are interested in studying together online let me know! I would send you a private message, but I see that you just joined allnurses. I think you have to have 15 posts first before private messaging.
Oh my gosh, yes I feel your pain. I just don't feel like I can get my confidence up; ya know? I graduated in December from a bachelors program as well. I wish I could have taken more time but that wasn't an option, parents pushed it a bit. How are you doing with studying? I wish I could do some in person stuff, I think I could have benefitted more from a classroom setting again. I feel like I just read and read and get nowhere..Am I alone in this? I still have access to my Kaplan questions so I try those but I have good days and then awful days.
I know how hard it must be to try and feel confident and positive.Just know that in the long run this will make us better nurses. If we can overcome this we can overcome much more harder times in our career and lives in general. It also sounds like you are being pressured, which never helps. Take your time, relax, this is your career and your future alone! I feel pressured by time and people nearly everyday. Keep in mind that you need to focus on yourself and that good things come in good timing :) I am studying a few hours per week but will go full speed come October. How about you walk me through your study plan/routine for each attempt since you graduated. Remember what we learned in nursing school:assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate! Maybe this will help with your next exam! :)
Yeah being pressured isn't fun but no one seems to understand the stress they are putting me under when they do it. I have been using Kaplan and then the second time I used Hurst and then some Kaplan tests and then for the third time I spent way too much money for an online guarantee tutor program and I feel like it was almost worse. I do fine with practice stuff and then I will go to do practice tests and then I do awful and then the next day fine, I just wish I could be more consistent. I am starting to feel anxious again and the test is Thursday...

What study material u used this time? Just relax and breathe.. U passed the nursing school.. U got this.. Prayers can move mountains! Pray for it to get through it..
It's good that you tried something different with each attempt! Unfortunately every prep program will tell you that they will grant a miracle. However you have to recognize that to pass this exam you need content, test strategy, excellent mental stamina, and little to no anxiety. There is not one single program that has the total package. Those who have passed used several tools and completed the program. Kaplan, Hurst,Lacharity,NCLEX Mastery, and UWorld are the most common and successful programs according to many on here. I would highly suggest postponing your exam to a later date. Is that a possibility?

UWORLD will have you passing on the 4th attempt! Read the rationales and LEARN from them
Go to review where i went.. She is really good.. With 3rd time i believe u already know your content.. U just need strategy to answer.. Cause in nclex u will always be torb in 2 answer.. This private tutor i went to, she will teach u the how to answer.. My friend passed the 4th time she took it..
What study material have u used?
