Failed boards 3 times..

Published

Hey everyone,

I have been working so hard since I graduated to pass my boards and done countless study programs and spent a lot of money. I am now in this state of depression, if I may diagnose myself and I cannot seem to shake it in order to get my confidence back up for this next time coming up on the 25th of this month.

I feel like a failure and nothing I do seems to help. I need my studying to be worthwhile but I just get so down on myself.

Any advice?

Thanks,

A Frustrated Graduated Nurse

Try the Hurst Review course. I took the NCLEX 7 times before passing and Hurst finally did the trick for me. She gives you all the content you need to pass.

My experience:

Attempt #1 Used Kaplan but did not complete the program, was sick on test day, and ran out of time

Attempt #2 Used Kaplan almost completed the program and ran out of time

Attempt #3 Used Hurst but only watched the videos, had really bad back pain on test day, and ran out of time

For my next attempt I will be completing Hurst program, Lacharity, NCLEX Mastery, UWorld and praying everyday!

I will say a prayer that your stress will be gone by test time and you will not be anxious. Positive thinking can make all the difference. Good Luck

I did try Hurst for my second attempt :( I do like the material to read..I just failed it a 4th time :( got the results today

Failed it a 4th time :/ I think im going to take a break..

I am sorry to hear that and yes I agree that you do need to take a break! I sent you a message, please respond if you got it!

I actually cannot use the private messages because I'm so new to the page :/ so I can't view them; I see that I have them but can't read them

That's okay, you just need 8 more posts and you can access them! I was just curious if it would work. I would really like to get a study group going through skype. Are you working and studying for the exam?

That'd be great! Like Skype sessions?

Yeah skype sessions. For me the most important thing is to discuss content because the best way to learn is to teach. Also having a study partner keeps me accountable and motivated, especially when there are no deadlines like when we were in school. Right now I am working about 30 hours per week plus volunteer work,so that is why I am only studying a few hours per week. Once October comes around I will be putting in more study time. For each attempt, did you take the exam in the same testing center?

Ok great!! It's helpful to talk stuff out :) yes I took it at the same place all 4 times. It's the closest one to my house. I thought about changing it up but yeah :/

All 3 times I have tested in the same center,so I think I will change it up, hopefully that helps. Are you currently working full or part time?
