Fabulous nurse

OK, I may be thinned skinned, but is anyone else a little put off by the "Fabulous Nurse" ad with the nurse twirling in her strapless white uniform dress while holding her white nurse's cap with the red cross on it? :uhoh3:

After all of the threads, blogs, letters and complaints about the negative way the "sexy nurse" stereotype pictures us in a less than professional way, it is disappointing to see it here in an ad directed at nurses.

I want to roll my eyes when a male pt comes to the hospital with the notion that his nurse is going to be THAT nurse.

I will be that nurse. Just give me back my dress.

1. I was just thinking today about the fact that there are NO dresses shown in uniform catalogs anymore. I guess we have to align ourselves to the facts that some pt.s really ARE porcine!

2. If ALLNURSES.com is REALLY accepting that kind of ad, and emailing ME about profanity, I will be out of here in a heartbeat. (I will further explore the side adverts, and believe me , my transgression was no more than a commonly used verb describing urination, and blanked to boot)!

Doesn't bother me in the least, as it doesn't represent me.

Oh, and I disagree with the implication that there aren't any sexy nurses...even in scrubs.

I thought their first issue was annoying beyond belief, due in no small part to the cover articles "Dirty Santa Games" (what the------?), "Natural Viagra" and "Celebrity Crush". Like Cosmo with a "nurse" sticker attached to it.

I'm thinking they must have received rations of negative feedback about that, because they threw in some pictures of old nurses for this month, and the sex part toned down to what to do if your sweetie can't get it up. Hmm. . You leave the magazine opened to that page lying somewhere he is sure to see it! Brilliant! (but wouldn't he already know that?)

It's pretty harmless inside though- I just think someone got a little over zealous with the airbrush on that cover model.

What magazine are you referring to? I thought people were referring to the ads on this website.

I thought the ad was an advertisement for this magazine:

Ah, got it. It's an ad HERE for the magazine "Fabulous Nurse"?

I think so- although I haven't seen it myself. I haven't seen the one with the "come hither" eyes, either! :nurse: Maybe ads with strapless uriform wearing, airbrushed cap flinging, come hither looking nurses are banned in California. We've certainly done sillier things than that out here.

Oh Steelydan, It's an honor to get tagged for a string of *********s. I love it when I find I have a special little email from staff telling me to knock it off. It's like a little hug:heartbeatfrom Staff, and it makes my day.

Don't you love those? I got one when I called someone a "d*nk" or something like that. It does make me feel that they care! :redpinkhe
