I just wanted to share that i started exercising to reduce my stress levels and the results are phenomenal. Running or biking in the gym for a half hour soothes me and allows me to focus. Anyone else had the same results?
You know, that is so true. I used to think it was all hoopla. I was like, "aww, exercise can't really reduce the kind of stress and anxiety I'm having". But you know what? This morning, I walked my daughter to her daycamp, which is only a few blocks away. I wasn't trying to get exercise, she just wanted to walk today. And I'm a really nervous, anxious, constantly stressed out kind of person. And I noticed that today, I'm not nervous at all. And this is 2 or 3 hours after I walked. So the effect is long lasting. I didn't even think to contribute it to my brief walk this morning.
I am here to tell the world that exercise is the best stress-reducing, anxiolytic in the world. :balloons:

You will be even less stressed if you do a 20 minute jog!!! its nuts how well it works
cheers!
I found it to be very helpful when I was quitting smoking recently. It made a big difference with the irritability. And it had a positive feedback kind of effect because I was able to see how quitting smoking had a positive effect on my exercise capacity/performance. It would have been ideal if I could have exercised twice a day to get a sustained effect on my mood.
Yoga is great for it's calming effect - better than any benzo!
It makes me wonder if the depression/anxiety surge is just a result of our sedentary society
Over the last few years, exercise, 5-days a week has been one of the major changes in my life. I found a remarkable transformation. As I developed this habit, the drive to accomplish things has been strengthened. I feel better, look better and actually look forward to living a longer, healthier life with the help of a healthy lifestyle and continuing support from my Heavenly Father.
