Excelsior

Updated:   Published

Hi!!

I have been a LPN for the past  5 years and I  work in LTC . I recently called Excelsior and was told they had made some changes to the ASN  RN program . I  was wondering if anyone took NUR 250 and went for the clinical portion of the class. If yes, can you share your experience with me.

It is a practical exam or a clinical rotation?

Thanks

Hope they changed the CPNE because that was very stressful.  Best of luck to you!

Thankfully, and Mercifully, the CPNE is a thing of the past.   I really cannot complain though, Excelsior has opened more doors, and allowed me to make more money , than I could ever dream of as a Medic.

Good luck.

All went well, a lot of good experience. Nothing stressful ,we need to perform a head to toe assessment and  pass meds . excellent! nothing compared with CPNE.

Thank you for putting my mind at ease, I was so worried that it was like the CPNE. I never actually took the CPNE but read about it and students reviews were horrible.

I am a fire department paramedic and received my RN from Excelsior's in 2009.

I never had a problem getting my first nursing job and have been working as both a Fire lieutenant/ Paramedic and ER nurse since 2009.

So, has the CPNE been eliminated?

replaced with some sort of clinical?

I ask because my wife is almost done with LPN school and is considering getting her RN the way I did.  I got my RN from Excelsior's in 2009. I failed the CPNE the first time but passed the second. That was very expensive to repeat. Hotel, airline tickets, etc.

Yep, clinical weekends that are instructional in nature. ? Students report that the new set-up is very supportive and positive.

I feel bad for the many people that I have met in person and online here, that failed the CPNE (myself included). Perseverance and circumstances allowed me pass the CPNE but not before putting out many thousands of dollars.
