Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone is currently taking the Excelsior LPN to RN ... and how goes it??!!
I'm not sure of this program, but I thought I would bite the bullet & try to pass the 1st of the 7 exams required.
I am also wondering why it is that you do not have to enroll to take the 1st two exams - Health Safety & Transition? Are they easier than the 5 remaining exams, and is this their way of getting you to take the worm? Or, are they harder than the 5 remaining exams - which would "weed out" the serious from those who aren't?
Thank you!

Has any one taken the LPN to RN programs online recently? These are older posts. I was looking into the program from EXcelsior College is it still a reliable college to still attend at?
Of course! I have two personal friends who've gone through the program recently. One cancelled a CPNE date 4 months ago and is waiting for another testing date; and the other is waiting for an ATT for the NCLEX.
There are also EC Facebook groups where you can talk to current EC students who are at various points in the program, from beginning to end...ASN, BSN and MSN students.
Hi, just wanted to ask you if went for your BSN or ADN and if you went literally to a class during your journey or you did it all online?. I would like to go for my BSN and currently have an Associates Degree in Computer information systems from 8 years ago. Not sure if any of my credits would be transferable. Also were you taking the credit by exam on an monthly basis and what study material would you recommend?
Thank you,
Edgar
You get out of it what you put in! Excelsior is great if you are self-motivated and really want to learn nursing. I passed taking one class per month finishing in a little less than a year including the NCLEX. No failures, no repeats and passed the NCLEX in 70 questions. That being said, it was challenging, scary and stressful but today I am working in a busy ER and really happy that I did the program.CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND WANT STUDY MATERIAL ***

this is a distance only program. No classrooms. If you are not currently a licensed & working RN you are ineligible for the BSN program. If you are not currently a licensed & working LPN or certified paramedic (MICP/EMT-P) you are ineligible for the ASN program. These are programs for experienced nurses to expand their education. The only class time for the ASN is the 3 day clinical performance exam

The only general Ed classes that have a time limit are Anatomy and Physiology 1&2, and I believe microbiology. All of the other one's there is no time limit. I transferred in sociology and psychology from community college of philadelphia and they were 7 or 8 years old.
I started excelsior in September of 2015 and finished the FCCA's in August of this year. I am only waiting for my test date for the CPNE. In the meantime I have taken a CPNE workshop and have bought supplies to set up my own home lab to practice the simulations on. I want to be 100% ready to go when I get that date or cancellation.
My only regret......................................was that I didn't enroll in exclesior 3 years ago when I initially thought about it.
