Hi Guys and Gals
I received my RN license from Florida last Tuesday the 24th of August.I held off applying for jobs until I received my license number from Florida BON. I have applied for 5 open positions in the Central Florida area, one I just forwarded my resume, 1 HBO2, 1 Psych/Mental Health, and 3 ED jobs. I just received an email from one of the hospitals that I did not meet their requirements:mad:
But I did get a phone call from a Magnet hospital wanting me to interview for the Psych/Mental Health Job tomorrow morning:yeah:Eeeehaw that was the position I was wanting most. So I'll break out the weed eater and loose the beard, go to howtotieatie.com and figure that one out and show up tomorrow morning looking all bright and shiny.
So just because you have your degree from EC does not exclude you from job openings.

Good luck! I actually think that my degree from EC will be more "earned" than sitting through 2 semesters at a local cc. Yes, I may miss out on labs but I am pushing myself a whole lot harder than I ever had to know the material and seek out training experiences.
Wishing you the best of luck!
Thanks for the best wishes.
Now an update on the weed eating mission. I haven't seen my face for about 15 years now so shaving was a very traumatic experience, so now every time I walk in the room the dog growls and barks at me, my 10 you old baby kitten has been hiding under the couch, but the teen aged cat doesn't seem to care as long as he thinks he might get a beer to drink. My wife just laughed. I was mistaken about the web site being howtotieatie.com it's it's .net.
Thanks again

Can't wait to hear about ur interview. Try to remember all the details.....
Best of luck tomorrow.
I had my interview this morning, I think it may have gone pretty good, this one was the initial interview of the hiring process. I even got a guided tour of the unit.... and NO they didn't try and give me any meds. The only slip of the tongue I had was when I asked her what they did to keep the Bi polar patients from bouncing off the walls, nothing major
Any way it was fun
LOL! "Come in here, Steve ... see how nice the padded walls are?" *locks the door* Ha ha! Hopefully you'll be a different kind of "keeper" for this unit. Fingers crossed!

LOL!!!
Keep us posted!
I was wondering why she tried to lure me into the seclusion room by telling me it was so nice and quiet in there.... AHH but I knew better when she said the walls were not padded and she was fondling her keys with a smile.....
I had a second interview for the job this morning, still not to sure how it went but this time I got double teamed by the nurse management. Except this time I asked about facial hair, they told me it was fine so I told them about my traumatic experience with the razor which brought on a good laugh.
They said they would notify me soon, fingers crossed
