Sorry to ask another Excelsior question- but I just got my degree template from them and the only gen ed requirement I have to do is the Information Literacy. Looking at the prices, $315 seems high for a 1 credit course. Does anyone know if I can take a course at a community college (I'm in North Carolina) to transfer for this?
Thanks so much!

Do a search on Penn Foster college for Information literacy, I heard its only $99, I just got permission from excelsior to take it. This web site has many posts on this. Good Luck:heartbeat

Yes, the Penn Foster course is accepted by EC and lots of students take it and save money.

Agree. Make sure to get approval from you EC adviser. My adviser even gave me all the info and directions I needed to take the Penn Foster course. I made a phone call, signed up, paid by CC, and received emails and mailed materials quickly. I am ready to take the course.

Yes you just call them (penn foster) and tell them you want to register for the course by course classes, inform literacy, eng 103 (i think). Tell them you are with excelsior and they will know what you are talking about. I took the class in one night. It was about 90.00

how do you know who your ec advisor is? did you call them up or e-mail them? i would rather e-mail them so i have copy or proof of their approval. but i need the e-mail address. i want to get approval for the info lit through penn foster and the clep growth & development. i will take these two classes while waiting for the cpne later. thanks for anyone with answers.
I just called and said I needed to speak with a nursing advisor, but i am sure you can email them through the message center.

By the way, the course is completely lame. I told Excelsior at the end-of-class survey that it was a complete waste of my time. Any child over 6 knows how to Google and use a library these days.
Thanks everyone! I think y'all all answered my questions. I'm going to contact my advisor and get permission to take the course and then get started with Excelsior!
