  1. That book they recommended is also on all the hospital floors and you can ask to look at it during your cpne weekend. You can also ask the primary nurse for the policy for flushing anything and they will tell you and the hospital policy overrides excelsior. And I was also told by a previous CE that irrigation hasn't been assigned in over a yr, so don't freak too much about it!
  2. You can pm me and I can send you some notes I have. Jamie
  3. Erin, email me....I have been at work for the last 5nights and unable to view facebook.
  4. Some states have issues with it and others done. GA and CA I know do. Tn does not have a problem with it.
  5. Erin! Email me, if you can wait to see if I pass in a few weeks, I will send you my stuff. Mneumonics and all!
  6. I just called and said I needed to speak with a nursing advisor, but i am sure you can email them through the message center.
  7. Yes you just call them (penn foster) and tell them you want to register for the course by course classes, inform literacy, eng 103 (i think). Tell them you are with excelsior and they will know what you are talking about. I took the class in one night. It was about 90.00
  8. I am not here to defend my education decision. I am just answering the questions of our fellow students. I loved it! It might not be for everyone, but it worked in my situation. Thanks
  9. To answer your question! I have used TCN for my excelsior journey. I do not know the price difference, but I have enjoyed using them. It might cost less/more, it might not. But the advantages are they finance it all for you, testing fees, tuition and books. I never had to look for books or wonder where I was going to come up with the money to take a test, which allowed me to get done faster. You can pm me if you want and I can answer any specific questions. I have done it all through TCN, just waiting to take cpne in Jan. Hope this helps! Everyone has their own journey!
  10. I didn't have to take A&P but I do have to take Micro, but I am not taking it until I pass cpne on Jan 22nd! Let me know how micro goes, when you take it!
  11. I also went through college network, I took Health Safety, Chronicity, Reproductive, Lifespan 1, 2, 3 and then Transitions, FCCA and now CPNE.
  12. I am going to Gwinnett in Atlanta. Once you pay your fee again you should be able to call Ga and they will give you a date (soon) for whenever you are ready! I hear Gwinnett is nice....I go Jan 22nd, so I don't know for sure. I also work with a girl that failed at Grady and called Ga after she paid and got a date within 2wks. I call and got my first date within 5wks of calling. Ga is not as slow as everyone thinks....just call and they will work with you...Stephanie at Ga is really nice and helpful. Good luck!
  13. It does really depend on where you are going. I hear a lot of people practice on animals to get the HR down. I also recommend tapping your figure along with the HR to keep count. I am probably the only person that is not nervous of getting a baby, but I worked in peds for 4yrs and now work in L&D/Mother baby now. They really are easy. The other thing is what time of year you go, if you go in the winter, you chances are higher with RSV, Flu, etc around. Well good luck! I wouldn't worry about the small stuff, just pray and maybe you won't get a hard child. I agree, the 15mos up to 4yrs are the hard ones! They don't like anyone unless it is their parents!
  14. Hey! PM me! I would love to chat about micro! Jamie Congrats!!!!
