How long is the wait for a testing date for the CPNE from the day you apply for it? I am getting close (3 exams) to being able to apply for it and am curious as I have heard it may be 8 months!

Thanks in advance!

Rick, it depends on where you apply. I got a date within four months, northeast, after I said I'd take a cancellation.

Yeah, it depends on how picky you are. If you are only requesting to test at one specific hospital the wait will be longer. If you select several options and and select cancellation date your wait will be minimized. It seems to be from 4 months to 9 months range on average?

I applied to the MPAC for all 5 Wisconsin sites on May 19th, received my choice of dates on October 31st ranging from December to February dates, and will be freezing my no-butt off on January 23, 24, and 25 in Racine. My wait sounds to be on par for anywhere but the NPAC. They book the people on through. It was very, very hard to wait. It's really hard to be motivated to study when you have no idea when you go in.

I applied to SPAC (Grady Memorial) on July 18, 2008. I got a test date at the beginning of November for 1/9,10,11/09. It was a cancellation date. The Georgia Nurses Association (they schedule the CPNE in the South) were great. Almost everytime I called I got offered a date, usually they were too close, like that weekend. Good luck
