Hello,
Anyone out there working on their MSN from Excelsior? I would love to know what the classes, tests, papers are like! How does in compare to UOP? I took one class at UOP, but wasn't particularly thrilled with the group component. I had one girl that was extremely difficult--to the point that other group members were calling each other on the phone to voice their frustrations with this aggressive/confrontational personality. I'm considering trying UOP again since this probably isn't the norm. I would like to consider other options as well. Must be distance-ed as there is no campus close to my house. I have an ADN and a BS in a non-nursing major. Somehow, I have never taken chemistry or statistics and I realize that may be an issue. The Excelsior program looks intriguing! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Several members here are taking classes through UAB and loving them.

Depends on what you want to do. The MSN from Excelsior will not get you advanced practice status but will groom you for either nurse management or teaching. If either of those are your schtick go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

That is exactly why I have no immediate plans to go on for a masters once I finish my BSN.
I'm way done with the group work.
I looked into EC's masters programs since I got my ADN from them but like every other masters program I've looked into, it involves group work.
Switching schools isn't going to ensure that you won't get stuck in another group with difficult/uncooperative/mentally unstable people.
I'm sure that those types of people go to EC as well as every other masters program.

[color=sienna]you may want to take a look at thomas edison state college - a national leader in distance education as far as i know there aren't any group projects. you can actually apply some of the ec exams to the program as well. i am pretty happy with the program so far.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the responses, they've been helpful!
