From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

I'm just doing one AHRQ reference for the 3 summary sentences. I just sent you a PM.

Ok, so I'm reviewing this week's study guide and somehow nothing is clicking. Is anyone else experiencing this? I was hoping to be done with this class before the weekend but I am stumped on what the take home message is here. Anyone???

So I got my internal validity grade back--10/15. I did a good job identifying the threats but my answers were "sporifice". I really do not know what they want from us in this class. This is the WORSE class I have ever taken and to think I once was really interested in research and going on for my Master's. I am sure I botched up my DB posts too. You email the TA's for further info and they do not email you back. They just give everyone a general response. Can everyone tell I am just a little ticked off right now!

No week 4 grades in my section yet. I'm fairly anxious to get them too. My DB postings and replies are complete for this week. I dug in and took the quiz too. Only 20 questions this time and each question is worth 1.5 points. I thought the quiz was more difficult than previous quizzes but managed to only miss two questions, so not too bad. Knowing the study guide is helpful, just as in previous weeks. The wording seemed more off than normal and I had to reread some questions several times to understand what was being asked. I am so done with this class! WOOHOOO!!!
Congrats to you! And what a great score on the quiz. Now I'm really dreading it. I read the chapters and feel pretty clueless. It's like my mind just won't accept the information, lol. Soooooo ready to move on!

You aren't the only one. I have been sitting here on my computer for the last hour wondering what, exactly, are they looking for with this discussion board assignment. I posted a question and it didn't get answered for two days so I just emailed the professor. I got an answer back [with an attitude, I might add]. Last week there was alot of work and I couldn't afford to wait for days for an answer so I just did what I thought they wanted. Of course, no grade yet so we'll see.

I don't have a clue what to write about for this last db post. I really think everything we do is evidence based...I it's not, then it's part of a study! I can think of things the physicians do that are not evidence based...which does effect patient care...an nursing. I may end up going that route.
I am just writing what the results were and if the evidence proved anything or not. In two out of the three, there was no "sound" evidence.

OK, I'm really puzzled by this one.
I lost 1-1/2 points on the interval DB posting for not including something that does not appear in the requirements. The remarks were that I provided "Good examples of use of nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio. However, you are missing the second part of the assignment where you go to AHRQ."
I did not see anything in the requirements for AHRQ for this DB, though it is in the week five DB assignment. Am I missing something?

You got me on that one. I don't recall reading anything about AHRQ in the DB about levels of measurement. The only time I saw AHRQ was for this week 5. That is messed up.

I did not see any instructions to go to AHRQ - those are the instuctions for week 5 not week 4. Protest!!!
