4550- Evidence Based Nursing

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

I wish all schools offered this. Sounds more interesting than Nursing Research, tbh :twocents:

I'm on board for this class too. Boy, you are all jumping in here early. I just finished my 3 classes for summer quarter today and I am NOT ready for this class yet. I have 6 more classes to go, 3 fall semester and 3 spring semester. I'm tired of doubling and tripling up and am getting extremely burnt out. I decided to just do one class each five weeks from here on out as I really need to live my life too.

LOL. It's funny that I only have two classes left, but my motivation is at an all-time low! On top of it stupid blackboard?!?! Grrrr, this just annoys the crap out of me.
BlackBoard is really a crappy application. Epic is far from perfect but it is light years better than BB. After Family though, anything is tolerable.

How do you log onto BB? I typed in the stuff I use for Epic but it doesn't work. Do I have to go somewhere to set up an acct or is just because the course isn't open yet? Anything special here?

I read Chp 1 of the text...OMG is this class DRY...PLEASE tell me the course content surpasses the text...PLEASE!!! After Family I just can't handle another vague class!

BB uses a different log in than Epic. Log into BB using your OAK id and password.

How do you log onto BB? I typed in the stuff I use for Epic but it doesn't work. Do I have to go somewhere to set up an acct or is just because the course isn't open yet? Anything special here?

I read in an email that the course won't be open until the first day of class, so I wouldn't expect it to be open until the 27th.

It should show up in your class list before though.

That's not the case for me. I use my Oak ID and the same password as for EPIC and MyOhio.

Not sure why you can't get in, the system should use the same login and ID as does EPIC. I just checked and had no difficulty getting on but perhaps that's because I had a class using BB for this past summer session. Only the previous classes are there though, not the classs I'm registered in for fall.

Another failing of BB is that it wipes all your previous work, so for example, you can't refer back to your week 1 discussion board posting when you are in week 3. It's also very difficult to tell where you stand grade-wise. EPIC kept a weighted, running total percentage for you. BB only gives you the number of points you earned. I also noticed that EPIC has already been wiped from the Academic Outreach screen. RIP.

My Epic and BB passwords were different. User name was the same for both. BB is your Oak ID and password. I miss Epic already :bluecry1:

Others signed up for the Fall semester are seeing their courses up already in BB. I don't see EBN yet though - anyone else try?
