Nursing Students Ohio University

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

huh??? no clue...
And yet there were, I think, 3 questions related to it on the quiz... I couldn't even find any info when I googled it.

This class is absolutely killing me. Misery loves company so thank you for sharing your tales of woe. My only saving grace at this point is the 100% they gave us for quiz 1. I thought I nailed quiz 2, yet it was another nail in my coffin! I have never failed a test until now. And of course their idea of failing is really a C. I have used that study guide, written notes...more reading, more study guide review, etc. None of that is helping me at this point. For me it's the wording of the tests. I read them aloud, re-read them and think...while the clock ticks by. This is by far the most I have studied for any class. Family was a breeze by comparison. And when the test is over I learn nothing about what I missed! What is the point of that?
Wow, I remember reading the Family thread and how all of you were so frustrated...and this class is worse than that? Wow.

Okay everyone...on to week 3. I am afraid to look at what is involved for this week. Has anyone else started yet?
Yes, I printed all of the additional reading pages, and viewed the videos. Two on Independent and Dependent Variables are pretty good ... has some good examples. The random sample is pretty good too.
It looks like there is an "assignment" that is set up like a test. and the DB is very complicated... in for a rough week I think.
Horrible so far...just trying to figure out what the heck is wanted in the DB this week. UGH, give me Family any day.

Hopefully by the time I take this class it will be better
Well, lets just try to tackle this week one assignment at a time... I'm reading the chapters and taking notes. I think I will try to do the Independent/Dependent Variables first. Since I just had stats maybe I can handle that one. But not tonight, I going to bed.

I haven't started the third week readings yet. But, I did google dependent vs independent variables and may have. Found some worksheets to practice identifying.
Do you mind sharing what the URL's are for the worksheets? I'd like to practice first before I have to take the test.

Can't take anymore tonight. My brain is fried. The sad part is I got a solid 4.0 in stats. What is up with this class!! I know I'm not dumb just exhausted at this point. I've read first two chapters, outlined my DB assignment and reviewed variables. Enough for the past two days. Wanted to have all the reading done as back to work for me this week. Working 12 hours shifts limits available study time.
Will I dream about quantitative studies...varialbles...tests..........................................................................................

This class seems to have only the most tenuous connection to statistics. This is also the second class in a row that I've taken in which the tests seem to have little connection to the reading, and none to the videos.
Now I'm stymied by the week 3 Independent/Dependent variables assignment. Our "To-do" listing refers to this as an essay in which we are supposed to identify dependent/independent variables. I frankly don't understand what's being asked for. Is this a test rather than an assignment? Does "essay" refer to the kind of test question? If it's a test, why is there a rubric? And if it's an assignment to write an essay, why do we need to use the dreaded lockjaw browser?
