4550- Evidence Based Nursing

Published

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

haha, Mickey59. I am usually an optimist in general but this class is testing me to the core. I'm not learning from my errors because there's no feedback. I almost cried when I got my test results. I'm trying to start anew this week...it's not easy when you don't know what you don't know... :sniff:

Know what I mean, lol!

Don't you all think a curve is highly likely???

Nope...no optimism in that department because not everyone is crawling in the desert.

@emJeanRN....highly doubt a curve since she already gave 100% on one test. I'd call that our curve!

@mtsteelhorse....I with you. It is hard to study when you just don't know how to improve. Already varied my study from 1 to 2 and I did worse. Back to the drawing board. Paying more attention to examples?

@everyone in NRSE 4550 Good Luck!

Mickey59, I studied 5 x harder for test 2 and did exactly twice as bad!!! Maybe at this point less is more, lol!

(That was a maniacal laugh, guys).

I think the key is examples - know what an example of something looks like. This week will be harder yet I am afraid. I have been attempting to read (keep falling asleep!) and I have tried to figure out what is needed for the DB. I am very confused - waiting on the tip of the week from the TA ....

When taking the quizzes I noticed there were always 2 possible answers. The one I thought was correct would sound correct at the begining and never make sense at the end. Of course I chose the wrong one. This is insane. We cannot even look to see which ans was absolutely the correct one. I hope we all do well on the next one. I've been going crazy all weekend changing my way of notetaking. Hopefully this will help.

I sent a msg to my TA about this very issue. When you can't check your answer against the test how in the heck can you learn anything??!!! I am beyond frustrated.

Just finished the quiz. Missed 6...all of which I had noted that I didn't quite know the answer. It would be nice if we could review our answer vs. the correct answer so that we could learn from our mistakes. Here's hoping that quantitative research is more cut and dry...

I wish everyone would pose the question of test review to their TAs!!!

Somewhere between sleep and tears reading Chp 9. Absolutely takes the cake for THE worst class I've taken at OU.

can anyone tell me where in the book there was information on the theory of relatedness? I couldn't find it.

I couldn't find it either in the textbook. I even did a Google search to see what I could find out there and couldn't find anything on it either! (except for something called theory of human relatedness, maybe it's the same thing, I didn't bother to read it).
