Everest Feb 08 class??

Published

Is anyone in the Feb class 08 class. Anyone thinking about going the private college route instead of waiting around for community college? If you did the private route do you regret it or recommend it? TIA

I can't wait to hear about the first class...Im pretty sure this is the program I want to do, just a year or so down the road. If anyone has feedback please keep us informed! Thanks!

I sent in my essay so far and have to go take the HESI and the COMPASS again. I am still on the fense. Mostly wondering if student stafford loans are enough to cover the tuition. Other wise it sound like a great program. I met with Kitty, the director and she toured with me. I really liked it but it is so far away for me too. But how do you know you are already in the Feb class? Is it the Phoenix location??

I meant to say there was a Feb class starting now?

For those of you in the program, how is it going?

I called yesterday and talked to someone....I gave all my info and she said everyone was busy and they would get back to me. I haven't heard anything yet....Maybe Monday.

I know someone said it was $366/credit hour, but do you know how many credits it is? I was just wondering about a total cost.

What are the hours?

The program total is 108 hours, but you can tranfer in all of your non nursing credits (math, composition, literature, etc.). I transferrred in 38 hours, so that reduced tuition quite a bit.

The program is going well. Because it is an accelerated program it is a lot of work, so they keep us on our toes.

Right now our classes are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. They will change each 12 weeks. We start clinicals in July, so I am not sure what those hours will be. Someone said Thursdays from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, but I am not sure that is set in stone.

I am not working, and I think it would be difficult to shuffle a work schedule with this program. Some of my classmates are doing it though. Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone who is tired of waiting.

I'm in the EXACT same boat as you, I also am concerned about the HESI.. but I'm taking it tomorrow. I also will have to figure out Day Care.. and idealy my son would be a little older before I started (he is 15 months right now) but in all honestly, I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever going to get anywhere taking classes here and there. I was really excited about Grand Canyon b/c in their program clinicals are all during the work week.. but now they just changed their pre-req. and I would need a higher level of math (previously they waived math for 2nd degree folks like me) but it is harder too.. they require a higher level of algebra than MCC. Then on top of that, this is the real kicker, they now have a single class that is a pre req.. and get this, it can only be taken there and is about $1900 - for the one 8 week class!!!!

I'd love to hear more from you and how your journey is going.

Kitty, I believe she is the director.. she was so helpful and she also told me that Everest will be starting a BSN... may not be for 2-3 years though.. but that is okay, the program for the Assoc. takes 2 years.

I have not taken the NET. I have heard some people say it is harder and some say it is easier than the HESI. There is a time limit on the HESI, but it is 4 hours for the entire test. I finished fairly quickly. Can't imagine using all 4 hours. I didn't have a problem with it. There is a study guide available. If you look over that, you will be set. Most schools charge for the HESI. Everest does not.

I am not sure how many classes they will be taking each year. I just know of the one that starts Feb 25 and the one in July. I looked in to Grand Canyon, the CCs, and PMI.

So How is your program so far?

Hi Arizona students, I just stumbled on this thread, while searching...

I'm in CA and starting the new RN program with Everest mid-July. I guess the first class in AZ is a good 6 months ahead of ours. I was wondering how the classes are going there? I wonder if our curriculum and requirements are the same? I suspect they are.

Heres a thread about Everest in CA. :D

Thanks!

hi everyone,

how are your classes so far? how are the july class start students doing? has everest gotten into "wait list" mode yet?

good luck on your journey and thanks for your answers.:yeah:

I think the private schools can usually avoid the waitlist mode because they have so many starts a year and are soooo much more expensive that people have to go the traditional route of CC because of the costs. I liked the concept of Everest when I met them and would have LOVED to go there with the info I got but I just can't factor in the costs as being a benefit for me. So I think if you decided to just forget the wait and go there there wouldn't be much of a wait.

I was told the whole program, without transferring any credits from elsewhere, is $43,000, does that sound about right?
