Hello all,
I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.
Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?
I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.
And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??
Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi everyone! I am new to this site and I found this thread and was reading all the experiences you all had to go through. I wish I joined sooner because I didn't have anyone to talk to during my application process. The waiting game was very stressful. This was my second time trying to get into the RN program at Everest. I didn't pass the interview process the first time around in May 2010 so I decided to go ahead and take my science prereqs to get them out of the way in the fall. I tried again and went through the info session in February finding out that the entrance exam had changed to the HESIA2. So, I studied for a month, took the test and passed. I was told that I was on the rollover list and that I didn't need to interview a second time BUT I got a phone call in May to schedule an interview. Thankfully I got another chance to interview because I did so much better the second time around. I went through financial aid and again thankful that it wasn't that bad. I didn't believe when they said I was official until I signed the official enrollment papers in admissions and heard it officially from R's mouth. = ) First quarter is done and moving on. Yay! I hope to meet some of you soon: CPTjoYjoY, Jewels, sr14, nurseddd, sweeperfc. I will be taking American Lit and College Algebra.
Hi Jmira,How are your clinicals going? I am really curious about clinicals I have one more quarter before I start them. :)
Hey! Clinicals have been great. You take in so much from while your there. This coming quarter will be even better since it'll be med-surg and its that much more we can do in the hospitals. Enjoy your 2nd quarter while it lasts, it gets alot rougher!
Thanks for the info! Also are your clinicals really far away? I heard from other students in my class that we might have to go to apple valley?
It depends what quarter you're in. In fundamentals its in ontario. For med-surg theres 2 hospitals, Montclair and St Mary's. And yup St Mary's is in Apple Valley. And yup I will be there this coming term. LOL. But I've heard from upper classmen that the ones who get St Marys are actually lucky because the hospital lets you do alot for the patients and you end up taking so much more out of the clinical experience there so I'm somewhat happy I got it.

I just want to start off saying that I have lurked in this thread for quite some time- and although I don't live in southern California, I am attending Everest's RN program in Phoenix. I just completed the financial aid and it turned out that F/A covered all of it (YaY!). I am so excited to start! October 17th is the first day, and I couldn't be more excited. :hpygrp:
Good luck to all of you going through the application process!
