Everest College Ontario RN program

Published

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Went to everest on Friday and I was told there were over 1,000 applicants. The next orientation doesn't begin until February. Good luck to all of you.

I have a question for the roll-overs.. Especially those who got in the second time around...Did they ask you to re-interview or did they just tell u to wait til' they schedule for financial aid? I'm asking because I did worse this time around for the hesi on two of my subjects and now very worried if I'll even make it on the call for financial aid... How likely would it be that they'll turn me down again second time around and I'll have to wait another semester? Any one here who was finally accepted after the third try? Thanks

I rolled over from the january start to the july start. I did not reinterview or need to take the hesi again. I just went and picked up my health packet the same week the interviews started for rthe new canidates. Then I waited to be called for financial aid (which was about a month later).

Oh ic.. Wow good for you. I just hope I don't have to wait a third time... But I know it probably happens.. Well good luck to you and hope to see you in the other side :)

Question.. Did anyone else feel they didnt get accepted due to your Pre-Reqs? Meaning because you had ALL your Pre-Reqs or some for that matter you would not be as "profitable" as someone who didnt have any. I had my interview and when i mentioned i had ALL my Pre-Reqs the lady told me my chances of getting in would be less. Something about i would have to start in the middle of the program and hope someone drops from the program at that moment. Bunch of BS!! Anyone else...?

I don't think so. Back in November of 2010 when I did my interview for Everest I let them know I had all my pre-reqs done. I was called back for financial aid and I would have started in Jan of 2011 had I signed on the dotted line.

Can anyone tell me what the current hesi exam covers? I am taking it thursday and studying the "secrets" study guide. Scared to death!

Math(proportions, additions, decimals and convertions)

Grammar(just a general knowledge like which word is better to use "their" or "they're")

Vocabulary ( they use some medical terms but most are general knowledge)

Reading comprehension ( basically reading a passage and identifying author's views, main ideas and word meaning)

Biology, anat. and physiology are not weighted but should be taken if time permits. (Plus if u got any tranferrable classes, it is good to brush up on those subjects to help you save 2k per class)

BTW good luck to you

Thanks so much!!!

Is it multiple choice?

Is it multiple choice?

From what I remember, yes it was. And, you get too see each score after submitting each section. Good luck!

Hi Everyone! I've been reading the postings on here for a while and was hoping to be able to add my own once I took the test...I'm happy to say, I PASSED! Next step, interviews! Wishing everyone good luck!
