Hello all,
I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.
Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?
I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.
And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??
Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Thanks Jmira, you haven't by any chance noticed tons of students being interviewed at the campus have you? I feel like i might have been placed #199 of 200 students for my interview lol. I will be e-mailing them before i go completely paranoid. hehe.
No I haven't but I'll start keeping my eye open :) Yeah send an e-mail to touch base, it can't hurt. And try to get some letters of recommendation for your interview it can def. help

Congratulations Redgyal! I hope everything goes really well for you on your interview. Did they by any chance mention if you were part of the first interviews?

She said that this was the first week that they are starting to call. So I guess they're doing scheduling for next week. I kinda been trying to keep my mind off of it so I wouldn't be paranoid myself, so when I got the message I was surprised. I'm so nervous though and I've read this thread like four times just so I wouldn't miss anything. You should be recieving a call soon. Like you, I'll be making this drive from Perris (hopefully)
GOOD LUCK !!!
The interview process consists of a short essay on why you want to be a nurse. The interview itself is along the same lines. I would say yes experience helps, but its not entirely nessary. I made it all the way last time, but turned down the spot for financial reasons. I am now on the rollover list. I hope I get that far this time, I worked out the money. Its also nice to see students like jimira liking the program.:)
Well tomorrow morning is the interview. I'm not nervous yet but I know I will be once I get there. I just have one question though, with the financial aid, will your tuition cost more in the begining of the program if you're transferring classes in? Honestly I think the only thing that's going to make me nervous is the financial aid part lol.
I only had 2 classes to transfer in and I had used a lot of my financial aid up with another school. I do know some of the gen ed can be moved to different quarters and the financial iad is broken up to 9 month periods. Definetly go to financial aid with all your info, one of the posts in the middle of this thread lists everything well. Good luck in your interview, come dressed like a job interview and just tell them why you want to be a nurse and if you have a good support system that is good to mention too.
