Everest College Ontario RN program

Published

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello everyone...I had my FA app this past thurs, has anyone gotten the final call yet?

Hello everyone, I had my FA appointment this morning. Unfortunately I have to wait a couple of days to verify my info since I had to apply for a private loan. I know I've been waiting for this but I have to pay monthly while I'm going to school plus the loans after I graduate and it's a lot of money. I'm a little bummed about this. Yes, I want to do this but I just don't know if I can afford it - specially I'd have to start working part time while I go to school. Any advice?

All I brought was my dad in case I needed a co signer, down payment, SAR, and 4 referennces with addresses. And yes, the grant results come back right on the spot...and if you already qualified for a loan to pay remainder of tuition bring documentation of that as well...good luck!

hey jewels! thanks for the info, i dont know if i can ask you this question, just try to calculate my tuitions,,,, how much could you be able to pull out from federal loan and pell grant>? i am so worried ..

for fed loans i think it was around 9,000 and grants was like 5500

Hello, I started the program this past january. I suggest applying for the Genesis loan for any amount you would have to pay while in school. I have terrible credit and was able to get this loan. My monthly cash payments were gonna be over $400, but this loan saved my butt! It does require a minimum payment while in school to the loan company(the min. is $20), I chose $50 for mine since every penny of in school payment goes towards principle of the loan.

I was also fortunate enough to do a work-study program which gave me extra cash. I would def look into it once you actually start the program. I wouldve loved to continue it but the program has become intense and the studies are the priority.

The FA process was the hardest part, but I just had to remember the payoff in the long haul.Good luck to you all!!

Yaaayy so happy for you!! I've been rooting for you!!!

Thanks jmira!! I'm so excited...me u and theresa need to meetup:)
