Hello all,
I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.
Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?
I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.
And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??
Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Ok, got a form email from R-- this morning saying that I was not selected for the Jan. class. If I wanted to be put on the rollover list for July, to let them know. Of course, I hit reply and said 'yes, please put me on the rollover list for July and I would also like to re-test'. R-- responded so I'm in a new waiting cycle.Congrats to all of you who will be in orientation this Friday :clpty:
Thank you. Im quite excited to start and i will definitely give updates and respond to any questions anyone has about the program when it starts. good luck for the next upcoming term i hope all the frequents here do get in!
Ok, I had to go digging for this info re: therapeutic communications. I had a class in college (another state) that had the same name. It was for ministers, therapists, social workers, pre-med, nursing, etc. It was how to talk effectively with patients in a clinical-type setting. When I was in my Everest interview and she reviewed my transcripts, I was given a tentative approval to transfer that to the Everest program.
Does anyone recall if Everest accepts recent CLEP credit?
I will be keeping everyone on the thread posted about how things are working out in the nursing program. I still have doubts, worries and concerns about the whole thing. But that's just me on a regular basis! I am excited about tomorrow and can't wait any longer to get started! I think I had the longest wait in the history of the nursing program.

I'm the same way msxstacey, I hope people ask the questions I'm afraid to ask myself See you tomorrow, too!
Hey there everyone :) I just want to say Congrats to all of those that made it into the Jan class :) I didn't start jumping threw the hoops yet but I was still rooting for you guys! Anyway as for the English Comp 1 and 2 classes at my school they guessed and said that it was probably English 101 and English 103, the only down side was all of the English 101 classes were taken and I had to take that one at least for 9 weeks to get into the English 103 course Oh well it is what it is as they say lol I ended up getting a Algebra class, American Lit and a computer app class so hopefully those do transfer. I was reading that someone said that you can pay to test out of certain classes, does anyone know which classes are aval. for that? I mean I feel pretty confident that I can test out the basic stuff :)

I know you can for Computer Apps, but that's the only one I inquired about. Typically, you can also test out of Algebra, but I didn't ask about that one...
@ Kimoleta...15.25 hours and counting. The nerves are starting to set in for me.:eek:
@Jewels...sorry, I can't answer that. I don't have ANYTHING to transfer!! I feel like such a loser! I know that I shouldn't , I just do!
To everyone else, don't give up. If you made it this far, past 1000 people. To me, that means that you have what it takes to make it in. Be persistent and OWN your place. In the meantime, you'll be saving money on those gen ed classes by getting them done now. IDK why I didn't use my time wisely & take some gen.ed classes...duh! I guess I wanted to pay top dollar for my education. LOL @ myself.
Good luck to everyone who will be there tomorrow morning @ 9am. I hear from the staff that the nursing students are like a family...close knit because there are only 40 of us and 900 of the rest.
