Does anyone ever bet on how high levels will be? LOL We used to do that!

What's the highest you've seen?

I can't remember the highest number, but it certainly was incompatible with life!

    Absolutely! How else do we get our dinners paid for? Its way more fun than pooling on a pregnant staff member, because the results take a half hour vs. months for the payout!

    Yes we do it!!! Even most of the ER Docs get into the wagering. I know some people will think that is not a good thing to do. :nono:

    Our highest was 590's. Pt was obtunded but maintained airway well. Obviously, a well seasoned drinker.

    The highest MBA I ever saw was a .6 , we had residents coming to our floor to see the patient as they just couldn't belive he was still alive.Yes we nurses were quietly try and guess what a MBA might be on a patient. The we would look up the results.

    Wow!!! I don't think I ever saw it that high! LOL

    And bless that little 18 yo's heart! I hope he learned his lesson!

    Recently a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a pedestrian. The motorcylists' blood alcohol................almost 600. And as usual, his victim was injured more severly than he was.

    Apparently the highest on record is 910. It occured in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe, and the guy was still walking and talking. The test was checked MANY times to be sure!!!

    350 for a woman complaining of seizures. She got annoyed that I didn't want her up walking around with such a high risk to fall and signed out AMA. I was surprised the doc let her go. (relieved too)
