World Registration

Published

Hi everyone.. I have a problem.. Hope you can help me with this.. I started applying for ETEA last month, got interviewed via phone last week and now, I already have my letter of offer from them. I was given 7 days to pay for the tuition.. By the way, I am for January 2013 intake..The problem is, my letter of eligibility from AHPRA is due to expire on the 26th of October.. Is it possible to ask for an extension from AHPRA? It is stated in the letter that I need to complete an NMBA approved program within the period given to me.. And now, my offer from ETEA is for January 2013.. :( What should I do? Please help.. Will greatly appreciate.. Thanks RNs! :nurse:

ETEA moved my intake from January 14 to January 9. Are you on the same group? Did you sent them an email already?

I suggest the best way is to ask the school itself to put our worries at ease.

NEVER trust a school, they will tell you anything to enroll and get your money, ALWAYS write to the AHPRA to make sure.

I am really worried. The school is not going to tell us the truth if there is a problem.

Exactly, I just mentioned NEVER trust a school's word or even their website, ALWAYS write to the AHPRA directly to get your answers. Stay on top of them to get the answer too.

I am communicating directly with the international student support of ETEA and i am not having problems so far. If you dont trust them, then you can browse NMBA's website since they release the communique i think, every month.

This error was committed by NMBA itself. The incident happened just this year, so lets not put all the blame to the school.. You can always ask them about their status.

Education, Training and Employment Australia (ETEA)

ETEA is a registered training organisation approved by the National Board to deliver the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses program for Registered Nurses (IRON-RN). The current expiry date for approval of this program is 30 September 2012. Students enrolled into an ETEA IRON-RN program that commenced prior to the expiry date will be able to complete their studies and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

Due to an administrative error, the National Board approved ETEA IRON-RN program inadvertently dropped from the approved program of study list on the National Board website for a period of 15 calendar days from the 22 August to 7 September 2012. This error was rectified immediately upon notification by ETEA. The National Board and AHPRA express their deepest apologies for any confusion or misunderstanding that the error may have caused to ETEA, students and stakeholders.

That was then, it was corrected, they are back on the list with an accreditation and notes saying it will cease being an accredited school on the 30.11.12.

Anyway, i think they wont accept applicants if they re not sure with their accreditation. Th important thing is, they re working on it right now. All we have to do is wait and follow up.

Yes! ETEA had their accreditation extended until January 2013.. :)

Please beware about ETEA.ETEA is in AHPRA radar for misusing the course structure and to accomadate more students. Now all the ETEA students are in trouble.Even after 5 months of course students are not getting the registraton from AHPRA.AHPRA do recheck all the records of students this take 3-5 months. So all the students are in trouble. So please think twice before jump to ETEA.
