Hi everyone.. I have a problem.. Hope you can help me with this.. I started applying for ETEA last month, got interviewed via phone last week and now, I already have my letter of offer from them. I was given 7 days to pay for the tuition.. By the way, I am for January 2013 intake..The problem is, my letter of eligibility from AHPRA is due to expire on the 26th of October.. Is it possible to ask for an extension from AHPRA? It is stated in the letter that I need to complete an NMBA approved program within the period given to me.. And now, my offer from ETEA is for January 2013.. What should I do? Please help.. Will greatly appreciate.. Thanks RNs!

Hi vitug.annie,
I am also having the same problem. My Eligibility Letter will expire on March 2013. But then, I am stuck here in SG for work, I can only pursue the course on January 2013, and since that's the case, I might not be able to finish my course before the expiration of the letter. As per @Zdane advice, I emailed my AHPRA's registration officer to ask. I think, you can ask them to as they were the only one who can give us the most accurate answer.. :)

Hi erikadioza. When do we need the Australian police check? Is it upon arrival to Australia?
Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com
@vitug annie
yup you have to apply straight away....
i suggest first when u arrive in AU open a bank account because you will need a proof of address in AU
opening a bank account will show your full name and address details in australia
then once you have the piece of paper from the bank showing your address APPLY FOR POLICE CHECK ONLINE
And a WORKING WITH CHILDRENS CHECK from the post office.
once you finished all of this your the first priority for clinical placement as long as you pass the drug calculation 100%
4 filipinas at the moment..

Hello! Im a newbie here and am also interested in enrolling for a BP course through ETEA. Is it true that they have an assistance program? Someone told me that they will loan you the amount needed for the course payable when you start working, and that they will arrange employment for you. Please help! tnx!
I am not really sure if they offer such. Maybe you can inquire directly from their website. http://www.etea.edu.au
But i heard theres an agency that offers assistance to nurses who are planning to take the bridging program. They will shoulder ALL your expenses. From application to accommodation to allowances.. Then you'll just have to pay them when you get a job there, but of course, with interest.
