Essex county college spring 10

Published

Hey guys, new member here. Quick question has anyone else applied for the spring 2010 nursing program and if so when do we get acceptance/denial letters? thanks

but my scores for the reading are low. alot of the words i never heard of before so i dont know there meaning how did you guys study for that did u use a dictionary

Do you have the book. the book discusses how to guess meanings of words by prefixes and suffixes.

Specializes in none yet...ready for action.

hi sasha....i actually overdid it and bought two nln pax study guides..the mcgraw hill one and the nln one...i think the mcgraw hill one is better because it gives small reviews in each chapter and is more thorough with the math and science...the verbal key to me is just because you dont know a word doesnt mean u cant figure it out...instead of memorizing thousands of inpractical words...learn some roots, prefix and suffixes..such as a word like atypical...lets say u dont what it means well a in front of usual root means with out or lacking so you can deduce meaning from the prefix ect......stuff like that..hope it helps..

Doea anyone know the lowest score accepted to get into the program? I heard some people got in the night program with a 107. I am currently waiting  for my decision for the day program that starts in September.

It depends on how other students perform. I remember when i took the exam last year waiting for the results was so stressful. All the best!

hi sexysash,

I also took the exam in march and waiting for my acceptance letter in august!!! The wait is killing me!!!! From what I hear the lowest score excepted is a 100 and above the 50th percentile in verbal. I have more info that was posted if you would like to know more.

So glad i found this site. I've applied for the Evening program and plan to take the pre nursing exam this september. I have not started studying cuz i have a lot going on!! Anyway I want to know what times the evening classes start at essex county college because I have to work. I have all my pre-requisites and PRAY I pass my entrance exam as I start to study this weekend. Please recommend some good books with good study and reminders. It's been a while since I had math. Anyone want to do a study group for the september entrance exam?

Any advice guys?

I'm in the same boat, just finished Bio 122 and applied for the Spring evening program in 2011. I'm starting the pre nursing exam too. Did you get a confirmation for the date as I haven't heard anything yet.

hey i spoke to the chairperson and she said letters would go out this month so lets cross our fingers

Hey

I am new to Essex county college. But I am from New york. I wanted to know how was your first semester at Essex and how was Fundamentals of Nursing?

I have a quick question.

I am interested in applying for the nursing program and plan on starting the pre's this Fall. I was just wondering where the clinicals are held. I live in Monmouth County and I am not able to drive, I would be able to use public transportation to the main campus but if I can not find a way to clinicals it would be sort of pointless to attend ECC.
