well I haven't started nursing school yet, but by the end of each semester (pre-reqs) I have to force myself to study so I can only imagine how burnt out you must be, this close to finishing nursing school. I'm sure you'll do fine, this kind of thing happens to most people. Good Luck and congratulations on finishing school!!!
I have 17 more days of nursing school which includes- one pop quiz on thursday, two more clinical days, one more careplan, and one more exam(the final). There is only one problem... I can't focus, study, and I'm just mentally burnt out.I'm doing great academically, all I need is a 60 % on the final to pass... but I still want to do my best. Its like all my motivation is gone. I'm just soooo bored with nursing school right now. I've just been home all day every day watching lifetime movies and waiting for time to pass. Is anyone else graduating soon and just don't want to study ???? Or am I the only one thats absoutely insane ?
Yes I am very burnt out.. we still have a Neuro and Endocrine test to take, then two finals, plus a bunch of "busy work" since we technically finished the material early (just waiting for exam days). I am forcing myself to put Saunders in front of me though... I've quit trying to learn "all I can" about the topics. All I care to learn now is nursing interventions, assessment of the illness, and a basic knowledge of the disease (ie., multiple sclerosis is a degenerative disorder; autoimmune). None of the in depth studying anymore for me!!
Thanks for the encouragement guys !!!. Z.B. ( I'll abbreviate)... I understand exactly were you are coming from. Today I was trying to read all the renal diseases and had to shut my book. I'm so tired of reading in depth. I basically just focused on what the disease is and what I as a Nurse need to do about it. I rather focus more on powerpoints at this time anyway. I just had an exam on endocrine not too long ago so if you need help with anything let me know.
I agree with mimib. I'm not in nursing school yet either (applying though - deadline is Jan. 30, 2012). I feel burnt out already too. But when you start high, you can be lax a little (Although I doubt in nursing school you can afford that at all)...but ya know... I understand is all I'm trying to say. Good Luck!
OMG today was my last day of class. Graduation is on the 16th woohooooo!! But, yes I felt the exact same way the last couple weeks. It was the hardest thing in the world to pick up a book or practice any NCLEX/ATI questions. Luckily, most of us start out doing everything by the books and working SO hard so you can afford to relax a little. I'm not recommending it. I'm just saying its possible lol.
