Hi, I'm applying for the Spring 2022 d-ABSN program for Emory. I was wondering a few things:
Thank you!

Keep in mind that they can place you anywhere within a 75 mile radius, regardless of how long the drive will take you.
What way to do you prefer an individual response?

- Is anyone else interested or started to apply for Spring 2022?
- Anyone from previous cohorts:
- How quickly did you hear back with an acceptance?
- How are you paying for the approx. $78,000 tuition?
- What is the school-life balance like?
- How quickly did you get a job offer before graduation?
Thank you!
I applied about a month before the deadline and got my acceptance a couple weeks before orientation.
Many students are using GI bill and private loans. National Health Service Corps is an option too.
School will keep you pretty busy, but surprisingly there are a few breaks within the program.
Finding a job will be no issue. I'm trying to decide where my husband and I plan on live once I graduate. I've heard from previous cohorts that many had multiple job offers before graduation.

You can message me on here, but I prefer private communication.

I know people who have been placed in SC, but it still depends on where you're located.

I'm applying regular app deadline - which is tomorrow. Does anyone know how many students they will accept? And the GPA requirement? I'm falling short with the GPA and risking everything with a 2.7
Also, can anyone share their stats? Thank youuuu.
This isn't explicitly stated on their website, but if your GPA shows an upward trend, they may be willing to work with that. Having strong extracurriculars, experience, and even a personal statement would definitely boost your chances.

What state do you live in? If they can't place you in your state, that could be a reason you got rejected.

I believe they accept about 30 students per cohort.

From my understanding, you can register to take the NCLEX wherever is the most convenient from you. You can live with your aunt in GA to help increase your placement options; however, they will not place you at any of the Emory hospitals. Those are reserved for on-campus students. You would go to Emory twice for initial and final checkoffs (and in between if they are having trouble placing you).
BE WARNED: you will be stuck in med surg for your clinical hours. There is no rotation to any other specialties. If you have a bad preceptor, you are stuck. If you have young children, this program is not for you. They are very inflexible and the director of the program is a bully. Many people fail the first semester. It's not worth the money. Find a program that is more supportive. Their testing method is also insane -- ask how they deal with online testing. Ask what happens to you if you need time off for an emergency. They just want your $$$$.
