I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?

Do you have an interview for both Critical Care and NICU?
@Charliebear95 I honestly don’t know. I applied for both of those positions. When she contacted me by email, she didn’t say which position she was calling about.

Oh okay when she calls you she’s going to tell you what positions are available and set you up with an interview. The interview process is rigorous if you’re interested in critical care, a panel of people will ask you a couple of case scenario questions, so I would do a bit of studying beforehand.

Thank you! I was going to ask about the interview process, good to know! I have an interview with them next week.
@Charliebear95 can you give me an example of a scenario? Was it virtual? I re-read my email and noticed it was for Piedmont Henry so I might not take it if I’m offered it bc of the distance

Yea so they will tell you about a patient who’s presenting with symptoms and you’ll have to tell them what you think is going on, nursing interventions, medications you would administer and the labs you think the doctor would order. It was over FaceTime! The case scenario given to me was about a patient in hypovolemic shock.

@AimStewRN20 someone name Kari, emailed me initially but when I emailed her back she said a lady name Nneka would email me, but she didn't. A lady name Rebecca emailed me and set everything up. I'm not sure what location she's from.
