I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?

I recently applied to their residency program as well. My clinical has also been cancelled. Have you heard anything back yet?
@KennyW no I haven’t heard anything back, my application status still says submission received. My school have us doing Vsims to make up for clinical hours.

Graduating in August with BSN. I have applied to Emory and haven't heard anything. Had a phone interview with Piedmont Atlanta and have another interview with them in June. Emory app still says "status: submission received"
@aubuRN2020 I applied for piedmont but didn’t submit my resume, they emailed my very fast and said I need to include my resume to move forward. So I’m going to actually do that tonight bc I’m nervous now.
Piedmont was super helpful and answered a lot of questions for me which I really appreciated @Nurse_Ari2020 Just checked on emory, still says submission received as status. I'm sure everything is crazy with what's going on.
@aubuRN2020 Hey, what did Piedmont say? I had a phone interview with them a week ago and the recruiter told me she’s going to continue with my application process and I haven’t heard anything back yet.
@KennyW it was just a preliminary get to know you and then I was told to email them closer to the end of my practicum to schedule another interview with hiring managers!
@KennyW, @aubuRN2020 how long did it take Piedmont to respond after you guys submitted an application? I attached my resume Friday so I’m hoping I hear something soon. Yes, my Emory application still says the same thing. I know things are crazy, but it’s getting a little discouraging, my friends are accepting jobs and I haven’t even been called for an interview.
@Nurse_Ari2020 it was a little less than a week!

How did you reach a recruiter? Is there a phone number to call to ask questions? I'm graduating from my accelerated MSN program in August and moving to Atlanta from Ohio.... I am nervous being an out of state applicant will be bad but having my MSN might help?
Just an update! My application for Emory finally days under review, so I’m praying for an interview!
