Emory Nurse Residency Fall 2020

Published

I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?

Did anyone get an interview for emory Decatur labor and delivery for the 23rd or 24th?

@Charliebear95 I’m scared now ? but thankfully tomorrow is just the interview with HR. I’ll def start trying to look over notes, thank you

Don’t be scared! You got this! Let me know how it goes!

Hello everyone! Has anyone heard anything from Northside? I am applying for NICU and Mother Baby at all Northside locations.

@NursingGirl2020I haven't heard anything back from Northside for Fall Residencies, I received Summer rejection emails just last week when I applied in May, so it seems like their process may be a few weeks off compared to the other hospitals timelines.

@Charliebear95 so I just had the phone interview with Piedmont Henry. I was told that my application couldn’t be pushed through to an ICU because I dnt have critical care backgrounds or senior practicum in a critical care setting. Even though it was cancelled. So I’ll interview next Thursday with a Cardiac unit, and a MICU step down.

I am just curious since I am from a different state, did students get to choose where they completed senior preceptorships/practicums at schools in Georgia? The school I went to, we did not have a choice, it had to be in an acute care setting so I did a preceptorship in Trauma-Neuro Critical Care, but I am trying to get a job in Women's Services.

@AimStewRN20 I attend school in Missouri and yes we get pick our locations. I just don’t find it fair that I was told I won't be considered for a critical care position bc my senior practicum got cancelled due to CoVID.

I’m from MA and went to school in ME and we didn’t get to pick either, I did have a rotation in a ICU but honestly you should of just told them you did one because it doesn’t speak to your critical thinking abilities whether you had one or not.

@AimStewRN20 if anyone else ask, I def will!

Also they don’t check with the school either to see if you have had one or not so you should just do it.

Just wanna make sure I'm not the only one who is still waiting to hear from CHOA... I noticed that they took away the Summer residency from their job search
