I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?
@NurseLou22 oh yes. would just really like to know so I can make a decision between emory and piedmont.
@Nurse_Ari2020 yes! they offered me CCU, CVICU or MSICU at the Atlanta Hospital and I only have til Monday to pick and decline or accept LOL so I'm a little stressed.
Well damn! I would have picked the CVICU and been done with this process ?? I’m so mad I couldn’t interview for one of their ICU @aubuRN2020
@Nurse_Ari2020 I was super shook LOL was gonna be happy if I got one, I wish you could've too! But I'm sure if you are on a floor you can move up in no time because if ICU is where you want to be you'll get there!
@e.allen.s did you apply for Emory medical ICU and Neuro ICU? Which location? Those are the two interviewed for at the midtown location.
@aubuRN2020 yes the IMCU offered me a position so if Emory doesn’t want me I’ll take that. But you’re right the ICU is where I want/need to be so I’ll for sure get there.

@futureRN0527 NIHSS a stroke scale. It's a free online class its really easy to get. I got it since I was applying to the neuro ICU. But I would warn that ACLS is expensive if you're getting it by yourself, all together I think I spent like $350 on getting it, but both my interviewers were impressed that I had it.
