Emory Nurse Residency Fall 2020

Published

I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?

@Nurse_Ari2020 71 told me they were gonna take 5 new grads. I would probably choose Medical over Neuro if I got offered both.

@e.allen.s yes she told me the same thing? and yes I would def pick medical over neuro. Fingers crossed we get one of them

Anyone hear or know anything about Women's Services residencies? I emailed the recruiter/talent acquisition partner at Piedmont and never heard back. A different recruiter told me they weren't having a Fall program in Women's Services, but she said she would forward my resume again to the person I had emailed. A recruiter from Northside said they only have Mother-Baby at Atlanta and Cherokee for the Fall.

CONGRATS everyone on your job offers in Acute Care and Critical Care!!!

Same here! I spoke to the recruiter at Atlanta Piedmont and was told that the manager for women’s services has not given her an update on whether they were having a residency or not. I believe Piedmont newton, Henry and Stockbridge are hiring for women’s services though.

I have not heard a single thing from anyone! I was told that no piedmont’s were hiring for women’s services and I have not heard anything back from Northside. The only thing that they are hiring for us Mother Baby. I am trying to figure out what my next steps are if I don’t hear back from them.

Yeah, I am unsure about what to do as well. I ended up applying to other residencies at Northside, thinking that if I do not get into Mother-Baby, maybe I could switch to a Women's Services unit after the residency, since their residencies are 3-5 months rather than a year, or maybe put in some time and then transfer to a different unit. I was told they have Acute Care/Med-Surg and Surgical Services openings at Atlanta, Forsyth, and Cherokee, Oncology at Forsyth, and Progressive Care/Step Down at Cherokee for the Fall. I interviewed at Emory for two general Med-Surg positions, but I don't want to make a 2 year commitment in a specialty I don't want, so I don't really know what to do as well.

OK, has anyone heard anything? From Emory

@Nurse_Ari2020 Jessica called me about an hour ago and offered me university OR! Good luck to everyone!! Hoping they are starting to contact.

Just got a call and got offered midtown Medical ICU and Neuro ICU, I chose medical. Good luck to everyone else!

What time did you interview? I’m getting nervous now @e.allen.s
