Emory Nurse Residency Fall 2020

Published

I want to start off by saying I hope everyone is staying safe! I’m currently in my last term of nursing school, I just applied to the Emory Nurse Residency Program fall 2020. I’m stressed about the process in general but with everything CoVID related I’m afraid that I won’t be considered a strong applicant, my clinical for the last two terms has been cancelled and We’ve been forced to do everything online. Anyone else feel this way? Has anyone applied to any residency programs?

I interviewed at University in the MICU. They asked behavioral questions like diversity patient, most challenging patient, how I handle time management, why emory, and stuff like that!

I interviewed with one ICU this morning and am interviewing with another in the day.

@aubuRN2020 same, I interviewed for the MICU this morning and the NiCu this evening...both at midtown

@NurseLou22 WOW! I was asked to tell them about myself, a priority question and a cultural question LOL

Did anyone interview with midtown OR?

I didn't even see NICU as an option on the interview list

@aubuRN2020 this was Neuro ICU not neonatal

So how does everyone feel? I received a job offer today from Piedmont, but I asked if I could reply by the end of next week hoping I hear something from Emory.

Did anyone else interview with the Cardiac Telemetry unit at Emory Decatur?

Specializes in ICU.

Piedmont pays more which is a plus!

What is the difference in pay?

@Charliebear95 the only thing is Piedmont is a step down unit and both places I interviewed for at Emory are critical care...so of course I’ll take the critical care

Also I’m not sure what the pay difference is, bc piedmont offered 25.50 base pay shift differential is 3-11pm ($3.50), weekends ($3.50), 11pm-7am ($4.50)
