Emory Fall 09

Published

Is anyone applying or have applied to Emory for the Fall 09 Semester. I have read in other threads from a couple of years ago that if you apply in November that you can here if you are accepted in January. Is that true? I have applied for the second degree program.

Hang in there dohzenoff, since there is nothing to show that you haven't been accepted, stay on the positive part.

Dohzenoff,

Hang in there. I'm also waiting so the secret conspiracy to not post decisions is against me too. :uhoh3::bugeyes::angryfire

Lauralu2008,

have you received the letter confirming your acceptance into the segue BSN/MSN yet?

I'm so tired of waiting for the mailman everyday! I just need to see it in black and white and not have make assumptions with clues from OPUS!! lol Maybe tomorrow...

jalin -- No, I haven't! I'm on the west coast, so who knows how long it could take! I still think it was a fluke that I found my decision online -- has anyone else in the BSN/MSN segue program heard back yet? Odooma, I'll check out the new thread, but I don't want to abandon this one til we've all found out!

lauralou,

I applied to the BSN/MSN program and have not heard anything yet.

I applied for the segue program too. Jalin, what specialty track did you apply for? I applied for the peds acute care track. Hopefully there'll be good news in the mail for us today!

dohzenoff and jalin, I also applied for the segue program and haven't heard anything yet... I am going crazy too, and am frustrated we haven't heard anything when at least I was hoping for/expecting something last Saturday (and every day since then!). I'm going out of town super early Saturday morning, so if I don't get something in the mail tomorrow I don't know what I will do!! BAHH. Good luck guys!!

Well guys I got my letter today and found out why I got my decision online and so early: They DENIED my admission to the Segue option and are offering me a position in the 2nd-degree BSN program only. Now it makes sense. I am super bummed, because Emory was by far my favorite program. I am also extremely annoyed that the online decision did not specify this -- what a way to get a girl's hopes up (!), even though I was suspicious of that online thing & tried to wait for the mail before getting excited. They did not say why they are "unable to offer admission" to the Segue program. I am still working on my pre-reqs, but still... I will be done with two out of the last 3 this quarter, with one to finish in Spring. So, I will definitely be calling to ask "WHY?" Why Yale, JH, & Columbia but not Emory???? I am so bummed. ANYWAYS, I think this is GREAT news for all you BSN/MSNers still waiting! No news is obviously much better news, so Good Luck!

Lauralou, I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get the program of choice, but at least they're offering you a spot in the BSN class. You would have to go thru that part the same way if you were a segue student over a 2nd degree student anyway and you can always apply to just the master's portion while you're completing the MSN. What track did you apply for? You've been accepted to a handful of the best uni's in the states and should be proud of your accomplishments so far!

I really wanted to get news of an acceptance today, but I've just been waitlisted. I guess it looks like I'll have to accept at Columbia since their deadline to accept is before I'll find out about the waitlist for Penn or Emory. Emory was one of my top choices and I'm a little bummed that I can't celebrate an acceptance, but maybe I just have to be patient and wait a little longer.

Anyway, congrats Lauralou! Getting a spot in the BSN class is still an amazing feat!

Oh my letter doesn't even mention the MSN even though I applied for the segue program. It just says I'm waitlisted for the BSN so if I get off the waitlist I don't know if that means I'll get into the segue or just the BSN as a 2nd degree...

WHAT is their deal? It's weird, too, that they would deny the Segue option to anyone who qualifies for the BSN -- since they interview you at the end of the BSN program anyway before allowing you into the MSN portion. I'm sorry dohzenOFF! I keep telling myself that things happen for a reason. Maybe you're meant to be at Columbia. Maybe I'm meant for Yale or JH. I just really thought Emory was calling to me. My gut kept telling me that. Sigh.
