  1. I am wondering the same thing-- does anyone have any input??? Thanks!!!
  2. I was going to send mine in with the deposit... Do you think they have to be actual passport type photos, or can they be any pictures of us that size?
  3. I did get into Columbia too, but I can't make it to visiting day this weekend... 3 exams on Monday. I wish I could though because I've never been to NYC, so it seems like it might be too big and crazy for me (a small town Michigan girl) and Columbia is lower on my list because of that. Ah well... Congrats to you too on your acceptance to Columbia, and have fun this weekend!
  4. I was accepted for the family nurse midwifery program! I am super excited, and think my decision will be between Emory and Yale. Any input?? Did anyone else apply for the Fuld Fellowship? If so, have you heard anything back? I got a call today saying I have been chosen as a finalist and have to go down for an interview, and was thinking it might be nice to meet up with some of the other applicants the night before rather than sit in a big hotel room by myself all night! Let me know. :)
  5. dohzenoff and jalin, I also applied for the segue program and haven't heard anything yet... I am going crazy too, and am frustrated we haven't heard anything when at least I was hoping for/expecting something last Saturday (and every day since then!). I'm going out of town super early Saturday morning, so if I don't get something in the mail tomorrow I don't know what I will do!! BAHH. Good luck guys!!
  6. abbybaby, i would love to hear about your experiences at both emory and vanderbilt and also hear what you are thinking with making the decision. i don't know how to pm though... do you have facebook? if so, you can find me on there! i'm the only megan danielson at the university of michigan. :) thanks!
  7. Laura, I would also love to hear what the current Emory students have to say. I haven't heard from them regarding acceptance yet, but I have high hopes! Hopkins was one of my top choices originally too and now I am also leaning towards Emory and Yale. Please keep me updated as you make your decision! Bahhh such a hard choice...
  8. I was accepted too!! Horray! I'm in for nurse-midwifery. I'm super excited, and although I am still trying to decide between some other schools, I think I might be leaning towards Yale... I'd love to have roommates and am interested in all different types of housing! Is anyone else having a rough time choosing between Yale, Columbia, Hopkins and Emory?? I'd love some input. :)
  9. wow lauralou2008, i am in pretty much the exact same situation! weird! my app to emory was also the family nurse midwife (i really want to be a midwife, and think being a fnp or whnp would be a great addition), and i also applied for the fuld fellowship. i think that the program there is really my fav, but it's 4 years instead of 3, and the most expensive of all the programs i've applied to. soo, like you said, if i got the scholarship, i would not be able to pass it up, but otherwise i have to think about it. it looks really great though! i also thought that yale sounded excellent, and it's actually the cheapest of the programs i think, but they don't have a combined midwifery/np program so it's straight midwifery, which would be fine, but i think i would have more options post grad if i had both. plus they don't give a BSN along with it like the other schools do. do you know if that matters or not, since we already have bacherlors in another area?? timewise, i have no idea when we will hear from emory, except that i just read in an emory forum i'm in on here that it might not be until like 3/15, which would be horrible! plus i don't know if that would include the scholarship decision or not... do you have facebook? my name is megan danielson and i go to the university of michigan... you should look me up and we can discuss there so we don't take over this forum. :) lars, you too! i'd like to hear more about your decision making process... bah! good luck, and congrats on columbia and hopkins!
  10. dohzenoff, i'm in the same boat with columbia waiting for emory's decision... please let me know if you find anything out!
  11. aspiring.midwife, that's exciting you're from michigan! where near tc did you live? my family has a summer place in glen arbor and i worked in tc a few summers ago, but i'm actually from paw paw (a super small town downstate near kalamazoo) and i'm living in ann arbor now going to umich. i'm not sure if i'm going to make it to the visiting day either, but if i do i'd definitely love to meet up. what are the other schools you're considering? i'm still looking at hopkins, yale, and emory... does anyone have any input on those programs compared to columbia? i hope your interview with ohsu went well! :)
  12. lauralou2008, i also was accepted by hopkins and columbia and am having a hard time deciding! plus i'm still waiting to hear back from both yale and emory... i didn't go to the yale visiting day (had a phone interview instead) and can't make it to either of the visiting days for hopkins or columbia, so i'm really clueless. what are you thinking so far? how are you deciding?? congrats though on being accepted to those programs! what is your specialty?
  13. midwife2012 and planet612, i was accepted for midwifery and whnp too! i'm still waiting to hear from some other schools and will have a difficult decision to make. i've never been to the east cost either (i live in michigan), and it'll be a big change. i'm excited though! i look forward to meeting you though if i do choose columbia!
  14. ]Hi! After months of hard work filling out applications, writing essays, having interviews, and the dreaded waiting (plus the years before doing the prereqs...), I've been accepted at 2 of the 5 programs I've applied to! And I'm still waiting to hear back from the other 3, and things are looking good. HORRAY! I'm super excited!! The problem is, I'm finishing up my last year of undergrad right now and don't have time or money to go visit all of the campuses, and I don't know how to chose between the two (or more) programs I've been accepted to. So far I've been accepted at Columbia for the midwifery/women's health NP program and Johns Hopkins for the midwifery/women's health nurse specialist program. I had an interview at Yale and it went really well, and I'm also waiting to hear back from Emory and Vanderbilt. I would say financial aid would have a lot to do with my decision, but I think that I have to decide before financial aid packets get mailed... I thought if the deposit to hold my spot was like $200 each I might just pay it for at least a few until I had more time to decide, but it's more like $500 each, and I can't afford that. I heard that Yale is #3 for midwifery on the US News & World Report, but that doesn't say anything about the accelerated BSN/MSN program. Any insight to the qualities of these programs would be super helpful and much appreciated!! Thanks!
