Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?
I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

So for the whole last year since you started last august only 2 people have had clinicals the whole time ? Where were the rest of y’all. In Atlanta?

No that was for one semester of clinical. The next semester only about 3 people had in person and the rest did virtually. In this last session, most of us have had clinical placements, but they were all med surg and it looks like most of us will have med surg for our senior practicum, not our specialty of choice.

Wow! What does virtually even mean? Sorry for all the questions— do you mind doing a pro con list of everything if you have the time? I’ve heard such great things about emory that I was shocked to hear you didn't like it!

are you in the DABSN in In EMory program? I though you started in August 2020? Since youre graduating this august. So this Spring in jan is when you started clinicals right? We were told those students all this year had in person clinicals no virtual.
when do you pick a specialtiy they have not asked us that

I am in the DABSN program and started in August 2020. We started clinical in January, only two students had placements and the rest of us had to go back to Atlanta between Feb and March to do clinicals. The next semester was mental health OR maternity (you do not get both) I would say 90% of our group had virtual simulations, so unfortunately they are blatantly lying to you. Not surprised, there is a lack of communication in the program and constantly giving students the run-around. I believe after the first semester they asked us about specialty, but I doubt they are going to ask you because they have a hard time finding any clinical sites let alone specialty units.

For virtual hours we did simulations through shadow health or spent time discussing in class video case studies. I will try to compile a list at some point. Emory is a great school. This program is not. It's a new program so things are constantly changing and they are not transparent with their students.

Would the next semester be the Summer semester so RN?

Hey, I also got this today. I applied in early March. I’m a little bummed out that I didn’t get in, but at the same time I was wondering if they say this to everyone or if they actually do want me as a student and this is just a logistical issue. However, I still think the program sounds great. I’m also not sure if I should suggest other cities that I am open to relocating to. But at the same time, I think this may be a rejection. ?
