Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?

I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

so when I start the program in August of 2021 then my clinicals will be jan 2022 so do you think  everything will probably be back to normal by then for emory or not really? don't really want to pay 71K for virtual simulations haha

Ugh, I’m really sorry. Where do you live? And did you say you were able to relocate?  It’s such a tough time to figure this out with covid and the issue of not all states participating in their distanced program. I just want to work already.

I didn’t indicate in my application that I am willing to relocate, but I did so in my email to be considered for a future entry. I live in ny but indicated I wanted to do clinicals in Connecticut. Same I just want to work too!

Good to know, it sounds like they are very open to working with students for future based on what you heard back and what a few others have mentioned. I know a couple of people on here all heard back well over a week ago but I havent yet and the wait is killing me. Im dying to have it all figured out. We need more DABSN programs badly.

Hey! Would you be one of the people they would place in Stamford Connecticut? I spoke with the Dean and he said if there were enough of us in Stamford it would be more of an opportunity for us to be placed there. Maybe send an email to indicate your interest again? It seems they might have forgotten.

Hi! Just curious if anyone else on here is still waiting to hear back about admissions for this fall. I reached out to them a couple of weeks ago and they said they were still working on my app....

Just received my acceptance for this Fall!

Hi! I actually requested Greenwich,CT, but I am open to Stamford as well. I didn't indicate that in my application, and they said to indicate that in the new application for Spring 2022. Also, @jcnurse2b CONGRATS on getting accepted!! May I ask what state you indicated placement?

Thank you! I am located in New Jersey and requested Connecticut.

I apologize if this has already been addressed - I'm on the waitlist for this program can anyone shed some light on that?  I assume it's a false hope string along tactic with no actual merit but, I could be wrong.  I've been accepted into a few other schools and am supposed to start in Sept, however, I'd hold out for Emory.  Any information is appreciated.

I would run from Emory if I were you. Count your blessings and consider the other schools you were accepted into. The cost of Emory for a BSN is absurd and NOT worth it.

The money is no issue, but not worth it as in you don’t feel like the education is good?

The education is what you make of it, as it is with all other distance-based nursing programs. It is a reversed classroom so you watch the lecture before and come to class ready to discuss and ask questions. The problem is the clinical and the administration of the program. There is a lack of communication and they won't even give you access to your own hours. They use a "formula" to figure out how they are going to calculate the virtual hours and they are not transparent about what that is and what hours we have completed.

They also have changed requirements and expectations for graduation while we were in the program without warning.
