Emory Accepted Students Fall 2011

Hello! I have been accepted to Emory's 2011 BSN program, and I wanted to create a new place for those that have also been accepted to keep in contact as we prepare for the fall. I am also interested in current and past students to offer any vital information that will help make this transition easier. I know this will be a very challenging program and I can only imagine everything I must do to be successful. So all advice and discussion are welcome!

As of now, I am very anxious about financial aid because it is unlikely that I will be able to submit my income tax return by March 15th. What are all my joining class thinking about now that we got the acceptance part out the way?:yelclap:

Hi everyone,

I am still waiting to hear because one of my transcripts came in after the priority deadline. :crying2: Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how that might affect my financial aid? I haven't submitted anything for financial aid yet- actually I just finished my taxes with my accountant last week! Do I just do my FAFSA and put Emory on the list? Is there anything else?

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have not been on for a while! Been busy with school and such.

The accepted students day is an all day event according to the admission advisors. I hate that they did it on a thursday..I hope I do not have any test scheduled that day!

@Je the deadline for the fafsa for emory was march 1st (as well as the tax paperwork and info I think) so I dunno how they will be willing to work with that- if they will even look at it?? I would def call the financial aid office to find out though!

mavejoy - you can do the TEAS six days a week at a PearsonVUE location. It's definitely more expensive than if you do it through a school, but it does allow you to take it pretty much whenever you want.

Mavejoy- the TEAS test is available @ KSU once a month (sometimes twice)

Google KSU Mall...and then go to TEAS BSN Test....i think its 50 bucks?

I will be taking my TEAS at Mercer University in Atlanta on May 7th. It cost $60.

Does anyone know what time the Student Day will begin? I'm assuming we will get another e-mail with more details other than the date of the event.....

I'll also take the Teas next month at Mercer University. I think it's offered there once a monht. Probably on the 3rd Saturday.

@Je88. I think u should contact financial aid as soon as possible. If u didn't know, fafsa allows u to add up to ten schools. So what u'd have done is add all the schools u thought of attending even before u filed ur taxes. I know the deadline for Emory was May 15th to submit all documents, but I don't know if it was only for accepted students or all who hopes to get financial aid. Sure'll get ur results on April 1st on ur acceptance. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey Guys!

I just tried to register for the TEAS V and Emory is not listed as one of the schools to send the transcript to. How did you guys get the score the Emory?

ATI gives you an option of seeing a pdf of your score report. If Emory isn't an option, then sending them the pdf is probably all they need. Some of the other schools I am applying to just ask for the pdf.
