Hello! I have been accepted to Emory's 2011 BSN program, and I wanted to create a new place for those that have also been accepted to keep in contact as we prepare for the fall. I am also interested in current and past students to offer any vital information that will help make this transition easier. I know this will be a very challenging program and I can only imagine everything I must do to be successful. So all advice and discussion are welcome!
As of now, I am very anxious about financial aid because it is unlikely that I will be able to submit my income tax return by March 15th. What are all my joining class thinking about now that we got the acceptance part out the way?:yelclap:
Got accepted for Fall and went and spoke with my financial aid advisor yesterday. I'm getting some money from the school but not enough to make a big difference. The rest will be up to student loans AND private loans. Holy crap. So I get home and burst into tears in front of my husband.
I'm so freaking heartbroken that I'm going to have to turn down Emory because of the cost. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. All I want to do is be a nurse and I'm lucky I got into Emory. My graduate GPA saved me. I'm not sure if I'll get accepted anywhere else.
Good luck to all of you though. I'm so jealous.
I also was just accepted to the BSN for Second Degree Students! Congrats!
So, I still have to take the TEAS test, but Im not overly concerned with it because it cant determine entrance to the program. I would, however, like to know if anyone has been able to find a course list. I would like to get a head start on purchasing books and studying, possibly contacting professors. Does anyone have any insight into the NCLEX?
Are any of our books going to be available on the iPad????
@mavejoy.
Please i wish to get more information about the organic chem course offered at Life University during the summer. When does the 5 weeks course start and what is the cost? I visited your website, but didn't know how to access the course schedule. Hope to hear from you soon. Have a great day.
hi hereicome, sorry didn't visit the allnurses web for a minute.
well, go back on the website life.edu then click on the QUICK LINKS pull-down menu, select academic quarterly , then select the spring 2011 academic quarterly. Go all the way down to the c for chem.
spring starts in april.
let me know if i can help more. i think it's $175 a credit.
Thanks mavejoy3. I called your school and they said they will be offering it, but i forgot to ask when it what month it will start. Most of the schools i checked use semester system. They will start in either may or early june, but since my school uses the quarter system, i will be finishing Chem 2 in June and Chem2 is a prereq for org. chem. Good thing with Life University is one can apply 30mins before starting a program and the cost is very reasonable for a private school. Thanks for your help!!!!

@hereicome - it wouldn't hurt to give them a call. I received my letter (definitely not a package!) and mine had to travel across the US.
Anyone know how long it takes for financial aid to update OPUS? I sent in my tax info and I want to make sure that it has been received. Also, anyone know when we will hear about financial aid?
