Emory ABSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I noticed there has not been a thread started for Emory's ABSN Fall 2018 (just the ABSN-MSN). Have any of you applied?

Yesterday was the priority deadline and from looking at threads from past years, it looks like people have received decisions as early as 10/16. Has anyone heard back?

If anyone is interested in sharing stats, feel free :)

Big time freaking out about the cost! Honestly, although I really want to go to this program, I will go to a cheaper one if there aren't many scholarships/grants available.

In terms of stats:

BA: International Relations, 3.25 (from a long time ago. I'm old)

Pre-req: 3.9

GRE: 167V, 152Q (blah), 5.5 Writing

I've worked with people with dementia for about 3 years and was an ESL teacher for many years before that.

Volunteer work: community clinic host 1.5 years; hospital volunteer 6 months; many years as a volunteer ESL teacher.

I did write a personal statement, and I do think that helped.

Hey guys! New to posting, long time reader lol I sent in all my materals last week for the final priority deadline. Working on the personal statement right now. Still waiting on them to finalize + check off my requirements. Retaking my TEAS on December 15th. Good Luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how many were accepted for the Priority Deadline? I just found about about this program today. I hope I still have a chance if I get my materials in by Dec 15!

Has anyone been able to see their merit-based scholarships online? If you do or don't receive one, would there be any sort of notification?

Signed into OPUS account. Nothing listed in the Fin Aid section. I have not received any email notifications either. I thought something was suppose to be sent out on Dec 15 too. Not sure what or when we will be notified now.

Same as of this morning. I'm hoping we'll get an update before the holidays.

I reached out to the financial aid dept, and they emailed me saying that the awards won't be released until 1/16

Waiting on the financial aid award+merit based scholarships as well. Does anyone know if Emory is generous with their FA package since they're a private university? Also, is there a price difference for in-state and out-of-state residents?

No price difference for in- vs. out-of-state since it's a private school. From what I read in the previous year's thread, the financial aid package is relatively small compared to the program's cost of attendance (I think we're looking at around $115k for the full course of program?).

That's discouraging...sigh.

Where did you get the $115k figure from?
