Hi everyone! I noticed there has not been a thread started for Emory's ABSN Fall 2018 (just the ABSN-MSN). Have any of you applied?
Yesterday was the priority deadline and from looking at threads from past years, it looks like people have received decisions as early as 10/16. Has anyone heard back?
If anyone is interested in sharing stats, feel free :)
Trying to decide between Emory and GWU. Very fortunate to have been accepted to both schools. GWU is closer to my home state but love the Atlanta area. Checked that I'm interested in the Washington Squared program at GWU but not sure I want to commit to a commute from Ashburn to DC every day for 3 years after graduation. Traffic into DC is horrendous. Cost is a major factor so Emory's cost is extremely intimidating. Plus I don't know anyone in the Atlanta area. Any idea when the Financial Aid package for Emory will be released? I am so confused. I have no idea what to do. Anyone have thoughts or guidance on the differences and advantages/cons of the 2 programs? I need some guidance...PLEASE!!!
@jackietran "The cost of attendance budget is considered sufficient to support a basic lifestyle for a single student. It does not include expenses for dependents, travel, vacations, or luxury items such as automobiles, household furniture, or appliances. The estimated cost of attendance for 2017-2018 for a full time ABSN student enrolled for fall, spring and summer semesters is $91,609. This is not the amount you will owe. The cost of attendance is not the amount you will pay for the year. The cost of attendance is the budget used to determine the financial aid amount offered each year and is more than a student's full time tuition and fees to provide assistance for living expenses if needed."
Has anyone who applied for the 2nd priority deadline heard anything? My OPUS account is still saying my admissions decision is not available at this time. I even emailed the admissions office before the Christmas holiday and they told me not to worry because all of my materials were received on time to be considered for the second priority deadline. When I check the initial application portal I still have red X's. Just trying to see if I'm the only one in this position.
Yeah, I was told the red X's will still be there, they do not have the time to take away all the red X's for everyone. It does not mean your application is not reviewed. They reviewed mine and stated everything is complete but they did not remove any red X's.
No notification tonight. I guess we may hear something tomorrow.
But, I would still make sure. Maybe in your case the red X's actually mean you are missing something?!! So I would check to make sure, but if they already told you they have everything, then I guess you have to trust them that they do.
But it does look like you contacted them and they told me a similar thing "we have all your stuff for the next deadline."
I was just accepted!
My undergrad GPA was 3.9 (public health)
TEAS test score was in the 89th percentile nationally
I haven't heard anything about financial aid and this is the piece that still has me on the fence. This would require a cross country move for me and my husband and I still have undergraduate debt this would add to. But I'm sure this is many applicants' situation! I also applied to OHSU, which is local for me and I will not hear a decision back until April-ish.
I'm excited to have made it in, but still unsure if it is the right thing for me.

Actually estimating more like at least $120k. Initially calculated it wrong since I took $91.6 * 1.25 since I'm so used to being in a quarter system. $91.6 / 3sem = $31.5k/sem. $31.5k * 4sem = $122k. That's solely based on 17-18 est, not factoring in any tuition increase.
