Email from nurse manager!

Published

I have been a tech at a large hospital in my area since January of this year....I also worked as an extern at this same hospital over the summer and have had 3 clinical rotations here. Basically I have invested a large portion of my nursing school experience in one place *hoping* I would stand out there and land a new grad job. Well graduation is a few months away and I have started applying for positions. I really would like to start my career in the Neuro ICU...I have floated to this unit as a tech and enjoy every aspect of this area. I am open to and enjoy other areas but this one is definitely top 5 on my list! So when a position opened up I applied not really expecting much since I still have over 3 months until I graduate. A few days later I checked my email and the nurse manager had emailed me telling me she received my application but at this time she needs a nurse who is already licensed but also told me to contact her closer to graduation. I am at a loss for words! I know nurse managers don't email applicants every day saying things like that, so my application must stand out :) I hope this means good things to come!

Good for you !!

The CEO of a hospital that I want to work at told me to contact him closer to graduation and he gave me his card, I have cherished that card ever since !

i am glad someone is hearing something good like that. i have been at the hospital i work on for almost 2yr and will be graduating on 11wks. i told my new nurse manager i was interested in a 3rd shift position on the floor i work on....i was told there are other rn positions to apply to. WTH! i dont understand and I have recommendations from multiple charge nurses and the old nurse manager. i was at a lose of works and not happy. i love the floor i work on. so hopefully i will be able to stay. :/
