who else is in Chamberlain RN-BSN program currently

I am starting online RN-BSN via Chamberlain College of Nursing from July. Just wondering if any nurses out there who will be starting the program or in the program>

Any suggestion/idea is appreciated as it will be my first online program...........

I am starting October 25 with NR 351 and sociology. I work full time.

Do you find it necesary to purchase the apa manual and the seventh edition Leppys ?

I use an Amazon.com Visa card -- I get a $25 gift certificate for every $2500 I spend, and once I even got triple points for paying for school with it! Then I use the gift certs to buy my books on Amazon. :)

What was the percentage rate on the card you used to pay for school?

I get 5000.00 per year tuition reimbursement. At 53 (54 next month) I really want to get this BSN done as quickly as possible.

All suggestions gladly received.

Oh, I paid the card off as soon as the credit card came due -- I used some savings for it. I just wanted to earn the points! :) I never carry a credit card balance, ever. Just a personal preference.

I got $3K/year tuition reimbursement, and did the BSN over three calendar years (2008, 2009, 2010). That was a big help! I finally gave in and got some student loans for the last few classes.

I started taking Cultural Diversity this session and dropped it. Decided to take the session off. I dislike the online books, also. I end up buying a used copy from somewhere. I hope the next 3 sessions go by fast.

I was told the 80.00 online book for the cultural diversity course was a must.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up doing it on PTSD. Lots of info on this as well.

After this session I have 3 more classes and I'm DONE!! I would have been finished if I had not of taken time off. uggg

I know I will do a paper on PTSD somewhere down the line.

My son has been to Iraq on three deployments..training for a fourth... ugggh.

so for next semester I have a dilemma - we are going to Mexico over thanksgiving and I will be gone 4 days in 1 wk and 2 in the other wk. Not sure if there is internet I cannot get a straight answer from the resort.

I can take 1 of the 3 classes - what do you think?

I went to Mexico lasr Sept during classes, specifically to Cancun. If you are staying in the hotel zone most hotels there have wifi or internet access. I was able to complete some of my assignments before hand, anything I typed I put into my email for easy access anywhere. I logged on for 15 minutes daily and it did not cut into my vacation time much at all. It is doable, and with the holiday I doubt anything big would be due that weekend.

Help,

I am considering Chamberlain for the RN-BSN program. I wanted to know if there were exams, quizzes or community service that is a part of the curriculum? Do you have a paper to write every weekk and how many pages are required? Just have lots of questions.

LadieRN, there will be quizzes, sometimes finals, sometimes there are short weekly papers and then one big final project. It all depends on which class you are taking. You will find out what will be required of you at the beginning of each class, no different from any other college.

Verblessednurse, No you don't have to buy the books from them but they are one of the fastest delievery. If you had already registered for your next class early enough during the current class, you will have time to order from amazon or other online sites.
