I am starting online RN-BSN via Chamberlain College of Nursing from July. Just wondering if any nurses out there who will be starting the program or in the program>
Any suggestion/idea is appreciated as it will be my first online program...........
Thank you!!!!
I just found this thread...wish I'd look a long time ago! I'm an Excelsior ADN grad from back when it was called University of the State of New York (1990) and just finishing up the Chamberlain RN-BSN program in Dec. if I play my cards right...Thanks so much for the info on the Capstone...I was really wondering about it. I agree with you guys, it's been a great experience! Can't wait to go on for more (at local U).
I started with Chamberlain in April, not happy with the program. They have changed the grading scale and log in requirements. No longer is logging on to class 2 times per thread accepted, you have to post more and substantial postings. Also, you can print out your assignments for papers, follow it,then they slash your paper & grade, and tell you oh,you should have included this or that, but this or that was not on the assignment. It is a lot more time consuming than they tell you.Or the assignment states 'at least 1 page',then the professor says "your paper should have been longer", huh! Very unhappy with the program since the changes.

What is the new grading scale?
I had wondered the same; however, because I had to take a certain number of credits (32) through Chamberlain to complete the RN-BSN, I went ahead and did the Chamberlain/DeVry course for Econ. Glad I did -- it wasn't bad! Just be aware that while they will probably accept some CLEPs, you'll still need to complete the minimum number of credits required.
Hi veryblessednurse,
I am finishing up my degee at Chamblerlain. I have 3 more classes to go. Woohoo! The route I choose with working full time (12 hour evening shift) as well was one class at a time, 6 classes in a year. You can take more but remember that when the final exam comes around in one class there will probably be a major paper due at the same time in another class. This way I can focus on just the one subject at time.
As far as which classes, your advisor will guide you along. It seems that most take NUR351 to start with and the instructor will expect everyone to be a newbie in there. They go over APA formatting papers in there as well as a lot of other things.
One piece of advice is to remember to order your book for the next class by the 6th week of the old class. Twice I forgot and was a little behind the first week of the new class. You can also do an ebook on here but I am old fashioned and need a real book in my hands to read.
The other piece of advice I would give would be not to get behind in your reading. It is easy to get behind and hard to catch back up.
This has been a very, very positive experience for me. I have A's in everything but Econ and Statistics, but even those I passed!
Good Luck!
so for next semester I have a dilemma - we are going to Mexico over thanksgiving and I will be gone 4 days in 1 wk and 2 in the other wk. Not sure if there is internet I cannot get a straight answer from the resort.
I can take 1 of the 3 classes - what do you think?

exnavy - I choose abused women in the community. In my town we have a great place for battered women which has a wonderful website. I got all my info from the website.
