who else is in Chamberlain RN-BSN program currently

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

I am starting online RN-BSN via Chamberlain College of Nursing from July. Just wondering if any nurses out there who will be starting the program or in the program>

Any suggestion/idea is appreciated as it will be my first online program...........

Thank you!!!!

I will be applying for a NP program in december. I am not sure why you can't apply for a CRNA program with a chamberlain degree.

Sorry I'm not much help.

I start the RN to BSN next month on the 30th! I am more excited than I thought I would be since I just graduated from RN in May, and passed the boards in June!

I have 10 classes to take too!

I'll be starting on the 30th as well, taking Socs350: Cult Diversity and NR351: Transitions in The Nursing Profession, I'm so excited! Originally I was set up to start over a year ago, but life events got in the way. I've heard nothing but great things about Chamberlain! One of my co-workers and friends from nursing school just graduated with his BSN from Chamberlain in July.

I'm hoping to graduate next August with my BSN. I need 12 credits, kinda bummed that my Anthropology course didn't count as a humanities elective, but, what can you do?

Has anyone gone on vacation and continued with 2 courses at Chamberlain? I'm going on vacation for 10 nights on a cruise at the end of October, and it was suggested to me by my admission counselor to only take one class that session. However, my cruise leaves October 27th, which means I will only be away for the first week of classes. I plan on investing in some online minutes aboard the ship to log into the courses. Any advice would be great!

Thanks!

Melissa

I see no reason why you can't accomplish enough online during your trip to keep up with your classes. It might be nice to do so in a vacation atmosphere.

I'm starting next month. I have only 10 classes to take. Thank goodness all those classes I took back in the stone age came in handy! I'm going to CLEP/DSST 3 of those classes, so hopefully will be done by the beginning of 2012.

Hi Melissa

I'm taking NR-351 (Professional Transitions) and NR-305 (Health Assessment) Session B/Summer. I have to take Stats sometime within the next year and that is probably the only thing that scares me, I plan on getting a tutor to help get me through that class.

Maybe I'll see you online for the Professional Transitions class!

Have a fun time on your cruise, hopefully after next August I can take a "real" vacation! :D

Hello all! My name is Casey I'm a CVICU rn and recent CCRN. Just signed up for chamberlain, had to drop out of jacksonville before classes started, after reading everything I could find about both programs. Chamberlain did end up being a bit more expensive around 2k difference, but I need 4 less credit hours and I liked working with (moderator edit of name) at chamberlain much better than (moderator edit of name) at Jacksonville and a bit better than (moderator edit of name) at Jacksonville as well, however (moderator edit of name) from the University Alliance representing Jacksonville was a pleasure to work with. I could be done with the whole program in July next year!! That seems crazy to me. We'll see how it all works out though; my wife (Who is going for her FNP) and I are having a baby in october and building a house that should be done around the same time! Thanks for all the posts on here, very good information!

Oh I meant to mention that I'll be in the NR351 and SOCS350 courses which both start 8/30! Has anyone had luck picking up the text book for NR351 from amazon, or have one for sale? Also the SOCS 350 text is an ebook, has anyone found an alternate/less expensive way of picking that up? Thanks again.

Hi all I will be starting on 8/30/10. I will be taking cultural diversity and professional transition also. LPN and recent grad, waiting on license card. I'm praying this works out good for all of us. I still feel like I have not had a break. Well good luck to you all.:nurse:

Good luck to everyone starting on the 30th! I'm a June 2010 Chamberlain RN-BSN grad and I start in a MSN-FNP program on the 30th too. You will love Chamberlain! It was completely worth the effort and investment.

Sue, RN

I am taking community health nursing (NR443). This will be my 4th class :yeah:

I think you would be fine as long as you can get on line on the cruise. You need to do the discussions and may have a paper to write. I have been only taking 1 class at a time but I have 4 children and work about 24hrs a wk.
