i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Congrats. :balloons: My IM check off is on next week. Do you use tubex for narcotics or you just draw up everything into a syringe?Katie
Thank you
I gave an antibiotic so I had to reconstitute and use a syringe. Other people who had a narcotic used their tubex. When I was practicing, I tried to draw into the syringe and there was just way too much pressure in the tube because it's like a vacuum. The tubex injector was just much easier to use than drawing into a syringe, in my opinion.
Allison,
Way to go - good for you!

I had IM check-off today and got a 97. She took off 3 points because I rubbed the alcohol too hard on my patient's injection site. lol. I hardly think that's worth 3 points but at least I got an A.My teacher was really funny trying to challenge me in the patient's room. She hid the armband! I had to go searching around the room for the dang armband hahaha. I was just laughing because that was so crazy! I wasted precious time looking for that thing! LOL But I have run into many patients without armbands in the hospital and had to get the RN so she could take care of it so I guess these little challenges will keep us constantly on our toes!
I'm glad I'm not the only one - the same thing happend to me (on both ECC / NL threads) a few weeks ago.
I don't have that feature on. I'd get too many e-mails. HAHAHAHA
I just have the UserCP page on my favorites, and go to the site that way. It tells me if I have any that I haven't read yet.
Coming here is therapeutic.....I do it when I take a few minute break. lol
It's also a habit to check this site when I first get on the computer.
