i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

I picked up my name badges today. It's blue, and the characters are white. It says AD Nursing Student El Centro College. So cute. I want to wear it today. :D

Actually - I still have my name badges from my AD and BS programs - and a few other places as well. I sort of collect them...

I have received a letter from the North Lake Student Nurses' Association today.

They will sell a 'Nurse Pack' at the freshmen orientation. It includes a Littman Select stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, pen light, 3-color chart pen, scissors, pocket protector, and vis-a-vis pen all in a custom bag. It costs $95.

Have you received similar letters from El Centro?

Is $95 a good price?

And what is the vis-a-vis pen?

Vis-A-Vis is a type of transparency dry-erase marker. :)

I have received a letter from the North Lake Student Nurses' Association today.

I saw a girl the other day walking into El Centro with a t-shirt that said "RN 2B" on a license plate on the back of the shirt. It was really cute and I was wondering where she got it. She was walking really fast so I couldn't stop her :roll

Those t-shirts are for members of SNA- Student Nurses Association. You can buy them from the officers of the assoc. when youi join :)

I haven't received anything like that from El Centro. I got my stethoscope last year when I thought I was going to be accepted so I hope I can use it. It was pink which is why I fell in love with it. I bet they won't let me use it. Anywho, I bought it for about $25 which wasn't expensive at all. I bought it at the El Centro bookstore so hopefully they will let me use it :)

I don't know if that's a good deal or not but it will definitely keep you from having to shop for all of that stuff! That may be a good thing!

You'll definitely have to tell us about your orientation on Tuesday!!!! Good luck with that. EC is on Thursday...I'm getting nervous....:uhoh21:

Trust me- don't go by what's closest to you. Go by the instructor you'll have for the clinical.
